The usage of quotation gone wrong. He forgot to edit the quoatation marks when he entered his remarks after each picture. Glenn Braveheart's the name of that ship? Where is it from?

    • Am at airport... typing from memory.

Glenn Braveheart, ex-RSS Perseverance, ex-Lowland Lancer (operated as a casino ship off South Africa), ex- RFA Sir Lancelot. Falklands War veteran.

      She looks heavily laden....

    • So what exactly is its current status? I recall the ship was laden with quite a few vehicles but can’t make out what because of the distance and the lack of binoculars at that point in time.

    • Glenn Braveheart/RSS Preserverance has been sold by the RSN to Glenn Marine, a “contractor” after her decomissioning from the RSN after the arrival of the Endurance-class LST/LSDs.

She sported the orange hull and white superstructure colour scheme after she was transferred to the merchant marine flying the blue Singapore ensign. The ship was used for submarine rescue and had a decompression chamber on board - a role now assumed by Kendrick.

Glenn Defence repainted the ship grey.

      Glenn Braveheart?

And as promised, RSS Formidable on her run.

Paintwork looks kind of faded on the radar mast and A-gun.[/b][/quote]

Is it me or are they using a two tone grey for the formidable class?

Brahmos? That weapon is operational (back in 2005)? I had the impression that it is still currently undergoing trials, let alone operationalConfused

    • Brahmos is operational with the Indian navy's only warship INS Rajput (which also acted as a trial platform to test the Brahmos) and the remaining ships will be armed with it. Also the next class of destroyers and frigates currently under construction in India and Russia will be armed with the brahmos in Vertical launch mode. The army version trail in the thar desert was a success and it is said that within a year the serial production of the army missile is going to begin. The air-launched version is currently under development and it will take atleast two years before induction into the Indian Air Force.
INS Rajput is currently in Bangkok
Pride of Indian Navy throws open its door to the people of Bangkok

    • This Stores ship (Mars class USNS Niagara Falls T-AFS 3) sporting the Stars-and-Stripes came by this morning, just minutes before a Ticonderoga class Cruiser (pennant number unknown) waltzed past in the opposite direction.

It is being used as a floating barrier for the moored USN ships. Barrier against speedboats with explosives. The sentries just have to monitor the gaps rather than the whole horizon.

I wonder what happens if the barriers got hijacked and somebody starts taking potshots with a ATGMs
