Someone better start working on a sight with illuminated reticle on the SAR21 !
Officially yes, there is no way to aim at night at a non-illuminated target unless you use the LAD.But for me if there is enough light at night I'll use the emergency backup pistol sights, which are surprisingly effective.

Yap tritium reticles will be an economic solution for easy targeting in low light condition with or without NVG and light gathering fiber optics rail for day sighting. This combination is not expensive (as compare to other modern sights) but i dont understand why in the world SAF is not getting it.I sometimes dont understand how SAF work. Can spend billions on fighter planes but is not generous in providing quality small arms that is bread and butter for the essential ground troops. Baseline version of SAR-21, grandfather version of U100 and oh my goodness, P226.
Another way around is to use the the red dot sight but it consumes electricity.

Or we could go for the ACOG that uses fiber optics to gather ambient light to light up your sights, no batteries required. But that'll need a p-rail mount, but might as well get rid of the basic 1.5X scope anyway... just about anything would be better.

I agree that STK shud just install P rail as standard. In that case, you can install any off the shelf optic sight with illum reticles.
I cannot imagine Singapore army without even a very basic night aiming sight such as tritium which was available in the M16 used by the previous generation of SAF
ACOG uses tritium for illum the reticle. In add, it also has
fibre optic light collecting system

Actually what i mentioned was taken out from the ACOG....lol was trying to be cheap skate for SAF to have a 1.5x scope which have the similar features (except the bullet drop compensator) but at perhaps a much cheaper price.
