I've a headache now trying to make a decision, i hope you guys might give me some advice.
My ankle ligaments are torn badly and my physiotherapist strongly sugguest that i go for an operation to get it patched. But the main problem is that mum doesn't approve it. She fears that there might be side effects after the operation like limping. I tried to convince her that the risk is very low as it isn't a really big operation. And thanks to the aunties stories and gossip she's being listening to, she's now objects my going for it even stronger.
I know my leg condition is getting really bad due to the sport and running i've been doing despite being told not to do so by my physiotherapist.
So what would you guys do if you were me?
you now young of course don't feel it.. when u old, you see how ur knee problem will make u suffer..
seek treatment ba..
Stop doing sports for a while and see how it goes, rest for 1-2months.
it's my ankle. i do feel the pain now. i cant even stand for too long, like 20-30 mins it'll hurts. i wanted to go but i don't wanna upset my mum. damn
it's hard le..1-2 months..diffcult to control..and the physiotherapist says that the ligaments will not heal back. so..even if need to rest, i think 1-2 months isn't enough. at least like 6 months?
Go for treatment.. I had same injury before after op it's good as new... Just that initially u gotta build up the muscles again.
Go for ops & ur mum fears u wll hav side effects of limpin.. She cant see tat u r in agony now tat u cant even stand properly??
i can stand properly just that it hurts. She is saying that if i don't play sport or run then it shouldn't be a problem. She's quite stubborn in a way. Having a hard time tryin to convince her =C I wanted to get it in during my NS time so that they will pay the full $$ for me.
Yeah lah dats wat i did oso. Army pay for OP =X
maybe u can try go for tcm treatment with no operation required ![]()
my fren was ask to go for operation in his neck by doctor but after he attend
the tcm treatment i recommend him, he no longer need to operate liao ![]()
alright. cool. but what is tcm treatment?

for torn ligaments, never never go for tcm (traditional chinese medicine) treatment. it will worsen your tear! your ankle needs to rest for a very long time. and yes, torn ligament cannot be cured.

U must be talking abt ligaments reconstruction, I had mine before, it won't be good as new but it better. But recover time is quite long, I think mine take me 2-3 mths plus, but dun know now, technology shld improve.
if i were u
i will surely go
becoz i treasure my leg alot. i wan to play football

Minor tear in ligament can heal back, but I believe u get it from dislocation, then the tear might be too much that it cannot heal back by itself, yes u need a operation but it won't be 100% recover, at least when u get older u will feel the different btw 2 ankles. But it still better than without going for the operation.
go.
don't seek treatment.. your ankle cannot use = gg
hmmm...i think i'll go for it..starting to really bad..painful even when standing for a while evening sitting.. thanks for all the advice..
hmm professional medical advice against auntie's gossip. who do you go to when you fall sick? doctor or gossiping aunties? ask your mum to choose.
yea..she'll just say that professional do make mistakes and cant guarantee that i'll be totally fine after that. i know she cares alot for me..but..hai..
hmmm..it's not indecisive but i'm in a difficult spot.. trying to get the best solution there is.. chill man..you sound so...
