225 is doing excellent with DDs. There is no option for bendies in SBS area, is there?

      Likewise with 860. But I think 184, 300, 812, 912, 913, 962 is better off with bendies whereas 301, 804, 805, 806, 811, 900, 901, 903, 911 all will do well with DDs even fi they are feeders.

Anyway sooner or later they will have to be full fleet SD (like 269/315) or have some DDs.

Loading of the yis/wdl feeders and intratowns are much higher than 269/315 etc

269/315 SDs with current frequency no longer leave the int (which is the main loading point i believe) totally full.. only around 1/2 or 3/4 standing space filled even during the main peak period

on the other hand yis/wdl feeders have similar frequency to 269/315, but yet even bendies leave the int full to door, and rigid definitely have many pax unable to board, so they wont be able to cope with full SD fleets.. unless the frequency is reduced further to 1-2mins which will be really unrealistic

806 often leaves interchange with full bus with pax sticking to the doors. Likewise for 804, where rigids cannot handle at all.

    • Let's us forget about Yishun feeders & intratowns first as they will be handed to SBST next year.SMRT can just deploy DDs for their feeders & Intratowns like it or not. There is no such things as bendy alighting/boarding is much faster than DD in LTA book now else you will see they order more A24 for that matter.

      900,901:Prefer with A22/A24

      903,911,912 & 913:A mixture of SD & DD.

      300:Majority SD and minority A24.

      301:50/50 SD & A24.

      302:SD & DD.

920 & 922:No harm deploy a couple of DD thus can reduce the number of SD.

    • Unlike YIS feeders and intratowns, WDL and CCK have no svcs that can rely completely on rigids. 300 needs a crossover DD at least, 900A must be full fleet DD. 902 also cannot do with full fleet rigids.

The SMRT's wrong decision. A 3-door single decker is sufficient for height-restricted routes and even when SBST says "cannot have double deckers". Bendy bus will be used for services 24, 27, 105, 300, 804 and 900.

one off or an upgrade to DD?

If u really saw, most likely a cameo.  A95's and E500's have cameo'ed on 851 quite a few times before.

AFAIK HC slots are permed and cameo'ed on by bendies usually.

      IKR. But well...

Personally I am still fine with bendies on 851, still better than SD.

Let's see if LTA/SBST will put perm DD's on 851 after the handover.

I hope they don't go 269/315 style. I still think it is a mistake to have so many SDs/buses running on 261/265/269/315 when DDs can do the job well.

Hopefully they don't make these mistakes on YIS/WDL services.

806 agree. Where 804 got such high loading? After 805/860 introduction, 804 loading has dropped significantly. 804 AM loading is still high though.
