unless someone asked SBST to divert 117 to Yishun Ave 7 and 8.

And that would make 117 an almost useless service...

We shud go HK model where everything is DD except when theres height restrictions. When spread over 17 years the up front cost diff between SD and DD doesnt bite that hard. Advantage that there will be less people complain of capacity issues and more chance for everyone to get a seat for paying the same fare.

656 went from 4 trips to 3 trips under SMRT and use A22, as compare to those "coaches" which have around 45 seats....

i dun mind DDs, but many ppl are against DD...

anyway, 851 DDs are well utilized (at least for those AM peak trips toward city). upper deck are alway full along marymount.

SMRT always like to shortchange de la... nothing new

If people dun want DD then more bendies? Then LTA will say very road-space wasting.

851 always have potential for good loading because the route it serves and it is actually not very winding.  Even evening as well - A22 reaching Yishun is fully seated with 3/4 standees.

I am sure if they put HC buses on 167/980 their loadings will improve too, but SMRT wont coz SMRT want to herd and chase more people to their godforsaken but money-spinning NSL.

Interesting how 171 is still getting upgrades, even though people have been speculating about it being shortened ever since DTL2...

167 should get. AM loading towards Thomson reaches 70 pax, and people have to wait for next bus. 980 not a good choice for DDs. PM loading not so high though, manageable by SDs (but if 83/85 can get DDs, why not 167 get a few?)

svc 3 should get more DDs IMO. Should have 10 DDs, 10 SDs... Take the DDs from svc 83.

I prefer 60% SD & 40% DD deployment..Svc 3 weekdays frequency during peak hours is between 6-8 mins per bus and 11-13 mins during off peak...

      I prefer SD-SD-DD-SD-SD-DD-SD-SD-DD
