      I think a 3-way swap involving 55, 100 and 196 is most sensible.

    • Since new stops around Tampines West inner roads have been spotted, might as well try to visualise how the route will look like

Tamp Concourse Int, Concourse, Ave 9

St 41, Ave 4 (Tamp MRT), St 82, Ave 3, Ave 4 (Tamp West MRT)

Ave 1, Ave 8, St 86 (return back via Ave 1/4/9)

      Pros

-Connect Ave 9/ St 41 to Ave 4 (MRT) directly

      -Supplyment Svc 129 (frequency wise)

-Connect St 82/86 to Tamp West MRT/Tamp MRT (no existing connection)

-Acting feeder svc for Ave 1 (Only have 23/69 which ends before 12am)

      Cons

-Will eat further into svc 46/129 load

    • This is a rather unlikely suggestion.

Service 1: Pasir Ris - Queen Street

      https://routes.one/idea/558

      - Direct link between Pasir Ris, Tampines Ave 10 and Bedok to city (Suntec / MBS / Chinatown / Dhoby Ghaut / Queen St)

      - Connects Chai Chee and Bedok South Ave 1 to Bedok North MRT

      - Connects Pasir Ris west to Bedok North MRT, though likely not useful

      Limitations:

      - Route in city is too winding  (Alternatively, can make it a loop service, but probably too long)

      - I wanted to make it serve the entire stretch of Orchard Rd, via Zion Rd / Kim Seng Rd. But that makes the route even more winding

Hi mr array88, mrt plus bus transfer can do the job for such long distance travel. In any way, 5/12/express 518 also serve parts of the routes. Cheers. Thanks.

5 and 12 are too winding for Pasir Ris residents to city.

Queen St -- Tomlinson Rd (loop)

      • - Queen St Term
      • - Rochor Rd
      • - Bencoolen St   [Bencoolen MRT]
      • - Orchard Rd
      • - Penang Rd   [Dhoby Ghaut MRT]
      • - Somerset Rd   [Somerset MRT]
      • - Grange Rd
      • - Orchard Blvd   [Orchard MRT]
      • - Tomlinson Rd
      • - Orchard Rd   [Orchard / Somerset / Dhoby Ghaut MRT]
      • - Bras Basah Rd   [Bencoolen / Bras Basah MRT]
      • - Victoria St   [Bugis MRT]
      • - Queen St Term

To complement service 65, for DTL3 travellers who would prefer a faster route to Orchard. Seeing that there is neither paid link nor free transfer option between Bencoolen and Bras Basah stations.

      Inspired by the suggestion above.

Service 126: St. Michael's - Eng Neo Ave (Loop)

      https://routes.one/idea/559

      - Primary purpose: Connects DTL3 Bencoolen MRT to Orchard / Marina Centre in both directions (Existing connections are largely unidirectional), so that DTL3 commuters don't need to make a big loop around the city

      - Orchard-Bukit Timah sector serves as replacement for 171/700 in case both get axed or withdrawn

      - Bidirectional service for McNair Rd and Towner Rd, with connection to NEL Boon Keng, DTL Bendemeer, and EWL Lavender

      - Connects Jln Tenteram to the abovementioned MRT lines (currently 21 and 129 both to NSL only)

      - Serves Eng Neo Ave which has no services today

      - Full SD fleet

Hence Route 21 only plies in one direction (towards PSR).

    • One such possibility of bus rationalisation in the future:

I suggest 23 will merge with 65 and withdrawn as 65 duplicates DTL3 stations from Tampines to Bencoolen currently assuming that 65's load will drop significantly after DTL3 opens.

The new merged 65 will skip Bedok Reservoir Rd, Ubi Ave 2 and Eunos Link and will ply 23's original route from Tampines Ave 1 ( via Temasek Poly), Bedok Nth Rd and PIE but will still continue to do MacPherson Rd and Aljunied Rd as the nearest DTL3 station (Mattar) is relatively distant. In doing so, Jalan Kolam Ayer and Rochor Canal Rd which is currently served by 23 will be skipped.

A lot of workers take 23 from Jln Kolam Ayer to Tampines... Although arguably they can walk to MacPherson Rd.

    • 23 is needed for:

      • Rochor Canal Road section to Serangoon Road (do not want a short walk)
      • Little India to Bedok/Tampines

You scrap 23, it will be so scary for travellers?

23 / 65 can have single deckers nowadays.

I think the best opportunity is to shorten to Temasek Polytechnic but I don't know what other arrangement can be there to provide essential link.

    • 23 should extend to Marina South ITH when it opens for business. Current 23 can become 23A.

    • It's a bit too early to talk about 23 leh... Maybe we should see 23's loading after DTL3 opens.

If LTA wants to rationalise any bus routes, please start with the routes along CCL and DTL2 first.

I suggest 23 can go via KPE, MCE, one-north, Dover, Jurong East. 65 can take over the link but Rochor Canal Road side will be lost. Alternative will be 66 from Sungei Road to Rochor and i think T6 "Red Line hippo" will be a replacement.

You don't siao please. to suggest 23 to terminate JE is 100% impossible scenario. If 65 were to ply Rochor Canal then what about Orchard, LD and HBF sector?

Kind of far from Aft Infineon bus stop...then I guess its better to leave Kolam Ayer section untouched..

How so? The amendment that I suggested covers much of 23's original routing, even if its popular among TP students I don't see how my suggestion will inconvenience them further aside from the fact that the run time towards the city might be a bit longer if they are heading towards there...

    • Extend Bus 23 to Marina Centre Terminal or Shenton Way Terminal via Bugis Stn. Benefits those from DTL3 to Bugis instead of going 1 round the DTL. Relieves loading on Bus 130 / 960. Affected passengers heading for Rochor Stn may take Bus 66 or 67 along any bus stop along Jln Besar that Bus 23 serves.

But funny why Bus 23 couldn't terminate at Queen Street Terminal when it is only 500m away from Bus 23's current looping point...

Unless extend to HarbourFront Bus Interchange via Ophir Road, Sheares Avenue, Marina Boulevard, possibly serving Marina South Pier before MCE, Keppel Road and Telok Blangah Road (similar to Bus 30) as a unique connection, though service demand may increase :(
