      So the amended route is something like this:

      Kampong Bahru Terminal

      Jalan Bukit Merah

      CTE

      Tiong Bahru Rd

      (Continues original route)

      Tiong Bahru Rd

      (Skips Outram Rd)

      College Rd (New stop opp Duke NUS building)

      Jalan Bukit Merah

      Kampong Bahru Terminal

      I know SGH already has shuttle bus services from Outram Park MRT, but this amendment provides new connection between Tiong Bahru MRT and Duke NUS (which the shuttle bus does not directly serve), and furthermore, Silat Rd residents will now have direct access to Tiong Bahru MRT/Market. I  feel that this amendment is better than just extending 122 to Kampong Bahru from its currrent route and honestly, no one really takes 122 from Tiong Bahru MRT.

      Trip towards TB can go via Hospital Dr/Second Hospital Ave to connect the SGH campus to Outram, but turning right from the Silat Rd stop will be a challenge to cut across 3 lanes in 30metres from the stop. Another challenge will be the really narrow roads in that area (pretty congested too)

      I feel even services like 54 or 175 (skipping CTE) can be amended there after the new terminal opens.

    • 129 should start from Tampines Int where 29/291 terminate.298 duplicate from concourse all the way to Ave 4.Svc 81 can start from Concourse instead.

    • 108:Compassvale Int-Bt Batok via Compassvale St/Punggol Rd/TPE/SLE/CTE/Orchard/BKE/Bt Panjang/Bt Batok Rd.

      Dude WTH? Even for SMRT operator, no point having such a lengthy and windy route. Separate BB - Orchard, Compassvale - Orchard and/or Compassvale - Bt Panjang routes (express or not) would have made much more sense.

    • I know right. Its not really winding if you would actually remember the 168/969/960 (just to name a few) concept. However, 4 expressways sound a bit oxymoronic given that expressways arent always reliable (unless u r talking bout 500)

    • 410G renumbered to 209

      Bishan Interchange -- Bishan St 13 -- Bishan St 12 -- Bishan St 11 -- Bishan St 21 -- Marymount Rd -- Shunfu Rd -- Sing Ming Rd -- Sing Ming Dr (loop)

      * Connects Sing Ming industrial estate to closest MRT (Marymount), no connection today and Bishan town. Only 1 service 130 operates in Sing Ming industrial estate.

      * Frequency = 08-10 mins matched for the loading of service

      * Fleet = Full SD fleet

      410W renumbered to 210

      Bishan Interchange -- Bishan St 13 -- Bishan St 22 -- Sing Ming Ave -- Upper Thomson Rd -- Marymount Lane (exp) -- Marymount Rd -- Shunfu Rd -- Sing Ming Rd (loop) and back via Upper Thomson Rd.

      * Continues to connect Marymount MRT to Upper Thomson and Sing Ming Ave

      * Shortened route manages fleet better with more high capacity buses to cater to high demand between Sing Ming/Bishan St 22 to Bishan MRT.

      * Frequency = 05 mins

      * Fleet = 75% DD, 25% SD.

    • New route 208

      Bishan Interchange -- Bishan St 11 -- Bishan Road -- AMK Ave 1 -- AMK Ave 6 -- AMK Ave 3 -- AMK Ave 4 -- AMK St 13 (new bus stop) -- AMK Ave 2 -- AMK Ave 1 -- Bishan Road -- Bradell Road -- Bishan St 11 (new bus stop) -- Bishan Interchange.

      * Connects Bishan MRT (CCL, NSL) to AMK Ave 1, 3, 4, 2 with no connection today

      * Connects Bishan St 11 to Bishan MRT. From Bishan MRT to st 11, pax can take from stop on Bishan Rd.

      * Connects AMK Estate to Mayflower MRT (upcoming)

      * 75% DD fleet, 25% SD fleet

      * Frequency = 08-10 min

      Modified route 166

      Clementi Interchange -- AMK Ave 1 -- AMK Ave 8 -- AMK Interchange

      * Connects AMK Ave 1/8 to Upper Thomson

      * Reduces duplication with 132/165

      * Provides connection for AMK Ave 1 to AMK MRT

      Terminated 262

      * With new route 208 and changes to 166, svc 262 will be terminated.

      * Those going to MRT, are encouraged to take 208 in view of better frequency and DD buses. Those going to AMK Hub will have svc 166 from AMK Ave 1 (west side) and will continue to enjoy 133, 136 and 166 on AMK Ave 1 (east side).

      Am just curious as to why couldn't 130 be modified to serve Shunfu Rd / Marymount MRT? Even if it is only in one direction (towards AMK)?

      Don't really know enough about 410 to comment on Sin Ming.

      Not sure if 166 is a good service to modify, given 262's poor loading and the lack of an alternative to Thomson Rd & CBD area (132 has terrible frequency). I observed decent loading back two years ago on AMK-bound 166 DDs along Thomson Rd at around 8-9pm. Better to wait and see the effects of TEL & NSE.

      804 should be withdrawn. 103, 117, 800, 806, 807 and 860 cover lost sectors. 805 should be extended to loop at Yishun Ave 11. More high capacity buses deployed on 805, 807 and 860 due to higher ridership.

      When new residential developments along Yishun St 51 are nearing completion, 117 and 860 should be amended to serve there.

      Overall can be divided into a few stages:

      (Stage 1: 859 & 812 east)

      859, which doesn't actually terminate in Yishun Int, can be enhanced. A plausible route is via Yishun Ave 5 / Central / St 61 / Ave 4 to cover 812 east, though this may or may not work once Yishun ITH is up.

      Ave 4 has 805 to back it up, so having 859 replace 812 east should not be a problem. If need be, 853 can ply Yishun St 61 and Ring Rd before going to Khatib (unless it creates right turn problems on return).

      This would free up 812 east to ply a new route via Yishun Central / Ave 11 / Ring Rd / St 41 / Ave 1 / 11, which has a much more significant demand. Can even extend to St 43 / 42 if necessary in the future. This change, along with existing route 807, can call for 804's withdrawal.

      (Stage 2: developments around St 42)

      807 should do Yishun Ave 9 / 6 / St 31 / Ring Rd, while 860 should do Ave 9 / Ring Rd / St 31 / Ave 6 / 1 / St 41 and serve the upcoming estates. This would get rid of 803.

      Following which, 103 should serve Yishun Ave 6 / St 42 / St 44 / Ave 8 alongside 860, due to its connection with KTPH. Along with 860's amendment, this could get rid of 806 (assuming demand from Ring Rd to Ave 6 / 11 is not strong); however, 806 may still be retained as a supplementary to 103/860, or to serve as a late night feeder if necessary.

      [ Up to this stage, Yishun Int is left with feeders 800, 805, 807; townlinks 811, 812; extended townlink 860. Services 803, 804, 806, 859 no longer serve it.]

      (Stage 3: west Ring Rd)

      Haven't quite thought of this, but could involve optimization of 800, 811 north and/or 812 west.

      Having one trunk route ply Ave 5, Ring Rd & Ave 3 is enough to improve links and put a dent in 812 west, though not enough to totally replace it.

      (Others)

      805 is better to stay as it is as the route is too winding to move elsewhere (such as Ave 11). If need be, can test merge with 883 after Yishun ITH opens. (While this mitigates 812's loss from Ave 2 to Ave 4, direct link to Yishun Int is lost both ways, so not necessarily desirable.)

      Routes such as 169, 851, 854, 856, 858, 965, 969 (high loading) and 117, 171 (unique connections) should stay as they are.

    • Bus Service 325 Amendment:
      325
      With 325's falling demand due to a better alternative service, it's original purpose (which is to serve Buangkok Green residents and Buangkok Medical Park) is long forgotten, and it now exists as a long mess of extensions over decades.

      The only probable reason why 325 still has demand is because of the crowd that avoids 101 during peak hours.

      To alleviate this situation, the bus route will be (massively) shortened to cater to more residents, and less unnecessary winding route.

      The 2004 extension is reverted because there is already 62, 107 and 132 serving the affected stops. Most people would take 325 just because it arrived before 132.

      Mending the route to follow 27 and stopping at the stop which only has 43/43M along Buangkok Drive provides another relief to the residents living along that route which lacks any direct bus service to major amenities until the introduction of 43. Directly linking 325 there would ease the peak hour crowds on 43 from Buangkok MRT.

      It would also ply the entire length of Hougang Street 51 and 91, avoiding Buangkok Medical Park as there is no reason for it anymore (161 killed it's original purpose).

      Also new to this route would be that it will stop at 3 new bus stops, two which is served solely by CDS 660 which is quite close to Ci Yuan Community Centre, and a new bus stop opposite Yio Chu Kang Primary which 101 stops only at one direction.

      It also would skip Hougang Avenue 10 sector which goes adjacent to Punggol Park as it is also seen as redundant as there is already 113 and many other bus services to cater the crowd.

      Bus Service 114 Introduction:
      114

      This new bus service will be the first of it's kind - the only bus service to link the North-East to North-West.

      It will utilise the entire length of Mandai Road, and will be an excellent service to compliment the North-South Line.

      The bus service massively duplicates 927 and 138 at the moment, but it can be amended to Stagmont Ring to serve Yew Tee residents as well once the road expansion project is complete.

      DO NOT SUBMIT THE MAP FOR MODERATION. IT MEANS YOU DID NOT MAKE A FICTIONAL ROUTE BUT INSTEAD MADE A REAL ROUTE TO BE INPUT INTO THE WEBSITE.

      Then simply copy the link over, which should look something like "https://routes.one/idea/xxx".

    • 261 and 269 should merge and form Townlink 264. Double deckers can be deployed if needed. 269A to be renumbered 264A and ply the exact same route.
