    • Wonder why so many bus apps dont want to update and remove the long withdrawn or transferred premium services, but they update new services and route amendments promptly

    • SMRT getting more B9TLs again.. all in WPDEP with SBS stickers

      (on a separate note hope to see DDs on their feeders and intratowns soon too, so many bendies retiring end of this month and that day just saw an enviro training on 901s route)

      Saw 169,856,963,965,966 & 969 all got B9 cameos

      Starting January I suspect more SMRT feeders to start with DDs. Already the deployment on 962 and 883 that are like extended MRT feeder routes are doing well with DDs in SMRT area. 806 also start to do better with DDs with many people going upper deck at Yishun interchange.

      I hope SBST will deploy those A24 on 800,804,806,811 & 812 can use DD

      陆交局巴士条例署长:部分接驳巴士地点较远是基于安全考量

      地铁周末缩短运行时间或停运期间,接驳巴士服务会尽可能照顾到乘客的方便,但有些地点基于安全考量,乘客得走较长一段路才能搭乘接驳巴士。

      陆路交通管理局巴士条例署长陈玉华日前接受《联合早报》访问时,谈及了规划接驳巴士路线的考量及事前所需的筹备工作。

      她强调,当局在与巴士业者共同规划接驳巴士服务时,会尽可能减少乘客得转车的次数,而最重要的考量是要确保乘客和巴士运作的安全,包括地铁站外的巴士站是否够大,能否容纳大批人同时在站内等车。

      她以淡滨尼地铁站外的巴士站为例,那里原本供接驳巴士使用的车站位于淡滨尼4道,但这条路只有两条车道,车流量颇高,如果再有许多巴士穿行,交通肯定会拥挤不堪。

      此外,这个车站也相当小,不够容纳大批人群。陈玉华到车站实地勘察了几次,设法寻找解决方案,最后找到了另一个位于淡滨尼5道的巴士站。

      这个巴士站比4道的车站要远一些,乘客大概得多走五六十米的路,他们还得越过两个交通灯路口,而且沿途没有遮盖,碰到雨天会很不方便。

      经过一番讨论,SMRT同意在有关路口提供雨伞,让有需要的乘客下雨时可借伞过马路,陆交局也将在过了交通灯路口后的一段路设置帐篷,为乘客提供遮盖。

      另一个例子则是在欧南园转换站,原有的东西线接驳巴士车站也是太小,没有多余空间让人排队等车;同站但设于东北线那端的接驳巴士站则比较大,但乘客得走一段路才到车站。

      让接驳巴士有更多“绿灯”时间

      “我们没有其他办法,只能使用这个较远的车站让接驳巴士停靠,好在乘客可全程使用地下道,免受日晒雨淋,我们沿途设置了方向指示牌,也有服务人员在场引导乘客。”

      在本月8日至10日的首个受影响周末,陆交局和SMRT总共出动了至少550人到现场协助乘客。

      此外,当局也在不显著影响车流量的情况下,调整交通灯,让巴士有更多“绿灯”时间。稽查人员也更频密地到受影响路段巡逻,遏制非法停车的问题,以免阻碍巴士穿行。

      陈玉华指出,在规划接驳巴士路线时,他们多次到地铁站附近的巴士站实地勘察,走遍了40多个车站,也研究受影响地铁站的客流量数据,以制定最适当和安全的路线,并估计需调动多少巴士提供接驳服务。

      她表示,工作人员将吸取本月地铁缩短周末运行时间或停运的经验,以期进一步改善接下来的接驳巴士服务。

    • Some SBS Transit buses have been observed to be using red clips that serve both as wheel nut indicators and retainers.  They look similar to the red ones used by GA but adjacent pairs are connected.  These will seemingly replace the existing ric clips.  Only spotted on SG-plated buses so far.
