Really too much free time to type nonsense.

Alot of them are still on the roads, feels unreal that they gonna be gone in a few days.

DM3500 retirement unofficially marks the end of Volvo B10M era and also step-entry buses for SBST.. was hoping the remaining ones gets another two year lifespan extension to 19 years, oh well, farewell to these great buses...

I think so. 20 of them will be going off.

reason for extension is that it is impossible for SBST to turn WAB by 25 Dec 2017. Most likely they are given up to 1 January 2019 to comply like Digital TV.

That means to say that the buses also ran for 160 & 170. They were consecutively replaced. 160 & 170 used those buses from 2001 (when replacing older buses)?

    • I am just wondering if the 30 extended DM3500s are waiting for the diesel hybrid buses to replace them by 2nd half of next year.

Btw have all the Citaros been registered already? Anymore unregistered ones still stuck inside C&C?

    • SBST had in mind of getting the DM3500s in service 160 & 170 since 2001 or 2002, shortly after all the DM3500s had been registered.

SBST had in mind of getting the KUBs in service 160 & 170, shortly after all the Changi Airport services had went fully KUBs. Beginning October 2009, those earlier batch buses went to Johor Bahru, and in January 2010, they were tested at Queen Street Terminal. They only started deployments in April 2014, after the registration in October 2013.

As the bus package goes nearer (160 & 170), LTA will have to liaise with SPAD to register up to 100 Citaro buses. These needs a Malaysia speed limit sticker, SPAD contact hotline number, the company telephone number and voice announcer that says "Do not leave your belongings unattended."

Ulu Pandan Bus Depot will have a separate room for bus captains driving JB-registered buses, such that they only need card tapping at all times, as a form of identification. In order to drive JB-registered buses, newbies must scan extra thumb. Passports will sure run out of pages, and is troublesome.
