I seriously dun understand why LTA still want to go and extend the lifespan of those old bendies on the first place.

Registered does not mean it could be put to use immediately...for starters, I would like to ask if all the A95s already had their bodywork assembled. If not, then this would be like the case of Euro I O405Gs in 2001 and Volvo B9TLs in 2006...

There is currently an ongoing debate about the appropriate classification of SgWiki upon my application to the administrator for a declaration. On my part, I had relied on two principal arguments to justify why the chassis number reliance is not accurate, appropriate or even contrary to established principles. You may want to put forward your stand on the issues raised.

actually, there is a gap between the VIN..

batch 2 end at 6634 (for 6864), 6509-6529/6819-6821 vin range are at 7655 to 7678..

      and batch 3 (6550) start at 8581..and 6866 start at 8566

it does seem like it is additional order of 24 units...

also, looking at the engine number as well, 6509-6529/6819-6821 are pretty close to those batch 2 units (7xxxx series)

while those batch 3 engine number (last 5 digit) start from 84xxx onward

In fact I am guessing, did SMRT simply extend and lay up the first few Habits just to separate them into two categories? Since 1117Z 1132D 1144U have already been reported missing before this saga happened...but then again, they do not have the same diligence as SBST because SBST do not need to extend all the  remaining DM3500s and then officially take them of the roads selectively...

so those lay up buses are no longer on lay up? and are in service?

So total 47 bendies got lifespan extension?

As far as I know, TIB1133B is still on service on Christmas Day. TIB1023K, TIB1098U and TIB1125A had also been spotted on service at least once on/after 20 December, but most of them had never been heard of since, especially some of those who came out once during lay up.

My point is, I believe these lay up buses are already gone case (in fact they will be taken off the roads once they reached exactly 17 years), and the combination effect of extension and lay up is simply just for ease of differentiation~TIB1117Z TIB1132D TIB1144U are the examples for inference.

    • Does anyone have any kinda firm figure on the number of E500/A95/B9TL across the 3 SMRT depots now?

With so many E500's and A95's leaving AMDEP, maybe 963, 966 and half of 965/969 shud go back to KJDEP/WLDEP.

      I fucking agree !!

AMDEP is no longer fit to handle the 96x series !!
