I am a new believer. Recently, I went for house blessing. When we were praying in one of the room (which will be for the owner's parent, who is a non-believer), to my surprised, I heard a prayer saying something like wishing this person will loose interest in whatever he/she is praying, which I think is not respecting the elderly parent. Does this sounds like a "curse" or a "blessing"?
In Exodus 20:4-5, "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD you God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,"
I know it is wrong to pray to idols, because they are only humans. But when we start to feel jealous or to "curse" other religions, it is like declaring a "war". I thought God wants us to have peace among us and to love each other? But then if God is jealous, then humans will get jealous more easily, right? There should be other ways to get those non-believers to join us, right? We should tell them our God is a loving God, which I am very thankful to Him. This is why I started to accept Him. Lord, I want to Thank You for giving me a chance to know You.

love the sinner, hate the sin.
the thing about christianity is.. it's rather absolute. we believe that there is only one true God.
if we say we believe that, means we also believe that other gods aren't true, and if they're not gods, they're demons.
after all, christianity believe in two powers, one from God and the other from satan.
so ya. it's nothing wrong.
everytime we preach the gospel, we're declaring war. everytime someone receives Jesus, we're robbing hell.
but remember, love the sinner. hate the sin.
