  well, 2pdf stands for 2 people's defence force ...
  
  its basically a NSmen and a some regulars who make up the force....
  They do work for the defence of Singapore during war times ....
  Situated in Clementi Camp beside the police Kins training base ...

  When your posting order states "HQ ________ unit", it doesn't mean that you will do clerical work. Rather you will be working at the Unit HQ, e.g. Infantry HQ at Tekong etc.
  
  2PDF normally conducts courses for protection of KINS. A few of my sergeants and officers went there for course.
  
  I'm not sure if you will be posted out (yes, again, but not confirmed) after your training, but most probably you will undergo the course for Protection of KINS.
  
  Sidetrack a bit.. are the RPs (what is actually the correct term??) patrolling Changi Airport, etc. from 2PDF?

  If his posting says ASA, HQ 2PDF, he should be going HQ.But he might be attached to the daughter units..if there is a need.

  welcome to the place where people develop fats. be prepared to perform at least 3 to 4 guard duties per month, pes E included. since u never state which dept u posted to, i assume it's cco. if that's the case, you'll most likely do duty clerk instead of guard duty. canteen got very limited choice. 1 muslim, 1 chinese and 1 drinks. spec mess is almost non-existent. officer mess food average only. get ready to meet lotsa white horses and the f-uped rsm and csm.

  My reservist training was at 2PDF, Clementi Camp. Canteen close at 3 pm.. Nothing to eat after that... spec mess got limited food at night...

  As far as I know, the POI for Changi, jurong, sembawang are done rotated between Active battalions with most of it done by 6SIR since they are the POI unit.
  
  However, POI is a 2PDF responsibility.
