I'm going straight to PhD.
It's a 4-year course, which is already considerably shorter than going overseas. In many US universities, you have to clear Masters (1 year) followed by PhD (5 years).

The cover art IS about the French Revolution...'Liberty Leading The People' by Eugene Delacroix. But to me the song is about a non-specific king's lament about a non-specific revolution.

I've bought Viva la Vida.
It's not too bad, but it lacks the emotional depth of A Rush of Blood to the Head.
And frankly, both Viva la Vida and Speed of Sound (the songs) reminds me of Clocks.

I do like the fact that they're trying out more instruments with this album. The similarity to 'Clocks' is not so obvious with 'Viva la Vida' aside from the looping tune.
It doesn't top AROBTTH but it's a positive step-up from X&Y.
