      I'm going straight to PhD.

It's a 4-year course, which is already considerably shorter than going overseas. In many US universities, you have to clear Masters (1 year) followed by PhD (5 years).

    • *me mysteriously appears in a puff of smoke*

For quite some time just now I couldn't access any website on any browser even though my laptop was already connected to my home network.

My sis had the same problem with her laptop as well.

      Must be thanks to StinkNet.

    • Hmm.... speaking of which.... have you guys heard the latest Coldplay album, Viva La Vida?

I get the feeling that the titular song is about the French Revolution from the viewpoint of the deposed French king.

The cover art IS about the French Revolution...'Liberty Leading The People' by Eugene Delacroix. But to me the song is about a non-specific king's lament about a non-specific revolution.

That was an okay album although ti had a few choons (but not SoS)...you either like or hate their sound anyway.

      I've bought Viva la Vida.

It's not too bad, but it lacks the emotional depth of A Rush of Blood to the Head.

And frankly, both Viva la Vida and Speed of Sound (the songs) reminds me of Clocks.

I do like the fact that they're trying out more instruments with this album. The similarity to 'Clocks' is not so obvious with 'Viva la Vida' aside from the looping tune.

      It doesn't top AROBTTH but it's a positive step-up from X&Y.

    • Things are just getting uglier. There have been roadblocks and vehicle checks into the city since Sat. Sounds like war zone to me.
