ANZ Optimum World MasterCard is the best card for occasional travelers who earn at least $80,000 each year. You can choose one of four categories to earn unlimited 5% cashback on purchases in your selected category. The four categories you can pick from are travel, dining & leisure, shopping and groceries, and you can earn cash back on those purchases anywhere in the world.

You can choose the category you want every calendar quarter (January - March, April - June, July - September, October - December), so you can choose travel as your category if you expect to book travel during the coming calendar quarter, but the rest of the time you can enjoy the 5% unlimited cashback on purchases you make closer to home by choosing either groceries, dining & leisure or shopping as your category. On all other purchases you will earn 1% cashback, which is pretty good for a flat rate on everyday spending!

This card also comes with a lot of dining, shopping and leisure privileges both in Singapore and overseas. When you sign up for this card, you get a $100 cash rebate! This card has a $180 card fee per annum (waived for the first year). Here's our ANZ Optimum World MasterCard review.

UOB One Card is another great card to use for your spending throughout the year, whether in Singapore or when travelling overseas. You can earn 5% cashback ($300 per calendar quarter) on all your spending, as long as you make at least 3 purchases and spend $2000 each month in a calendar quarter.

If you spend only spend $500 per month for each month in a quarter (and make 3 purchases monthly), you will earn $50 cashback (3.33%). If you spend $1000 and make 3 purchases each month in a calendar quarter, you will earn $100 cashback for the calendar quarter (3.33% cashback).

You can get up to 20% instant SMART$ cashback when you use your card to pay at over 900 participating merchants (EpiCentre, Sephora, Caltex, Cathay Cineplex, Metro). You also get dining privileges in Singapore. This credit card has a $128.40 annual fee (waived for the first year). Here's our review of UOB One Card.
