    • SINGAPORE: Singapore's first ice gallery will open on November 1 as a permanent feature at Snow City in Jurong.

Designed around the theme of dinosaurs, the ice sculptures will be fitted with coloured lights, waterfalls and even an ice slide.

To prevent the ice sculptures from melting, the temperature is set at minus 10 to 12 degrees Celsius.

The installations are produced by Singapore's national sculpting team which has won various international ice-carving competitions.

Team captain Jeffrey Ng said: "The first step you have to do is to stack up all the ice blocks, and each ice block weighs about 140 kilograms. Then you'll have to start to draw onto the ice, And from there, you start to carve."

"Ice-carving is an art, but the lights are the spirit of these arts. So we need all these lights to enhance the whole ice carvings so it looks grand and nice," he added.
