    • seems like it's going to be a lost tradition soon. anyway as far as i know, it's eaten on tong zhi (somewhere btw 22dec and 24 dec). it's seriously celebrated in HK and elsewhere.

    • My favourite tang yuen stall is at food centre Beach Road.   There are 2 stalls, my favourite stall is manned by the more mature ladies.    Shiok.

I never take notice of the name of the stall but sure it is the old stall.  The new stall is with younger women serving.    Love it and miss it.   Looking at the link you posted makes me drool for it and now I am thinking to go eat it.   Shiok.

Beautiful's classmate thought that today was "eat-tangyuan-day" (I'm sorry I don't know the name of the ocassion) hence the confusion.

I do love tangyuans though! Why don't we just eat them all year round?

For any  favourite  festive food can eat all year round - dumpling, tang yuan.

Yuan xiao jie, the 15th day of the 1st lunar month is the day for tang yuan, too. Signifies yuan yuan mun mun.

I love the peanuts and black seseme tang yuan.
