Me and my friends are going there(Johor Bahru) tommrow. We are going in one day one night. So cannot waste too much time travelling. But we will be taking taxis as we don't know the bus systems there and we are not driving. Anyone can recommend places to

eat lobsters and prawn and delicious food in general?

Shopping mall with lots of good stuff to buy and hang out places like cinema, kbox etc etc

Beach to hang out and water theme parks

Theme parks and interesting places

Good Clubs and pubs to hang out at night

good hotel but not too exp, to stay that is near all these places above

tips to avoid robbbery and any other advice you have would be good and appericated. Cheers.

Why JB? Don’t go JB now la.. Damn dangerous. Three of my relatives LIVING there already met up with a couple of robbers already. Go and you might never come back again.

Try Jusco shopping centre…very big like Suntec City.Got cinema and good foods there.

Don’t take cabs driven by indian or malay drivers… especially if you are a female. At least that’s what my father always says.

My friend went there and took a cab. When my friend was in the cab .. the driver make a phone call and later ... the cab driver drove to a place where LOTS of ppl were there waiting for them ... And money all gone .... Really ... Dont go ... save the money and go tour next time round ...

my malaysian friend (very ah beng one) who live in JB even avoids holiday plaza and such. He says this places are very complicated.

just don’t come back whining about being robbed or passport not stamped. good luck

Go megaria for seafood. Just enter the taman (analog to district) and u will see a shell petrol kiosk...ask the ppl working there if ya dun noe how to get to the restaurant which is just beside the sea...
The soon hock there less than 100 ringgits and many more good food.

For clubbing, go permas jaya. But I cannot gurantee ur safety.

if you know nuts about JB, its better to have someone familiar with places around there.

Try not to carry too much cash with you and don't act like blur sotong or foreigners.

Going in a big group is also better.

But seriously, its better to have friends in there who have a wide connections of friends and bring you around.

and lastly, try to stay indoors before 9pm. its better safe this way the previous time i went out alone at 10 plus to get some food, was followed by 5 people.

then left the car for many hours cos go watch movie...

then we sit at a coffeeshop in masai and have dinner...

Can bring in DVDs already? How come sometimes Customs make trouble when even one dvd is brought in? Other times they don't care even if there are more. Surely DVD can be seen using X-ray machine. So what gives?
