Is Courts furniture or CREDIT seller?

We got our refrigerator and washing machine from Courts and had paid almost in full (via credit card) even before delivery. Of course we do not owe Courts any money at point of delivery. Almost 8 months after the delivery and the end of our business relationship, Courts decides to send a letter offering to pay us back the amount in full and enjoy "6 months interest free" and of course the sentence comes with a "*processing fee applies". The question is this: Is Courts more a furniture seller or a credit seller? Now, almost everyone knows that Courts makes a lot of its profits (I won't go so far to say most of its profits, because I do not know. On the other hand, it is clear that 24%p.a. would definitely bring a lot of profit) from people taking up installment plans on their purchases. But, to go to this extent, offering me credit when I had already paid in full? What does that say? Zero social responsibility definitely comes to mind. Curiously, the "cheque" (YES, in its marketing material, Courts is even mimicing banks), there is no bank name, only the logo for Courts on the left hand side on the "cheque". Seems to me that Courts is more the credit seller. If so, shouldn't it be treated as a financial institution. Definitely seems to me very murky and a total lack of social responsibility.

yeah, but makes me so mad, because i already paid 90% before delivery, and due to some issues, settled the balance BEFORE delivery. Is there a need to tempt me with a credit for $1300? if i'm so hard up, i wouldn't hve paid in full right?!

his credit cards are only for convenience's purpose.

Courts is a credit seller. Full stop. Nobody will want to go there to pay RRP for their electronics (furniture is another case).

Of course tempting. It will be crazy not to go for the 10% cash rebate if you're buying a 1k stuff.

Its just a complementary business and its working very well for them. Like Harvey Norman and Best Denki who SELLS extended warranties...the percentage that these complementary business products contribute is high and though carries with them a high level of risk, it has a low cost to offer the product. Ultimately, u have the choice to take up the offer or not. Its just like refinancing. You take a new loan but u get some money back upfront.
