Hi all,
More IQ questions for you to solve!
Question:
1. You have 8 balls. 7 balls are of the same weight, shape, colour, and texture except...
2. One ball is heavier, everything else cetera peribus as above.
3. You have 2 weighs. Calibrated and everything is identical to the dot.
4. You only have 2 tries with the weighs to tell find out the heavier ball.
How?
Note:
1. Some guys might be overly distressed knowing that they have eight balls. Please treat this hypothetically.
2. You cannot use other tools except for those mentioned above.Thank you.
throw each into water
measure the volume
the one with the most volume increase is the heavy one

Er..thanks.....please use the tools given.
wats cetera peribus?

Everything else constant.
Gambate Kudasai!
Split into group of three, three, two.
Weigh the 3 against the other 3.
If balanced. weigh the remaining 2 1 vs 1.
If not balanced, take out the group of 3 which is heavier. Take out any 2 out of 3 and weight.
I assume itis a balance weight that u are talking abt. as in those with 2 tray on each side.
sperate the ball into group of 3, 3 and 2.
weight the two group of 3 balls on each tray. If balance, weight the other 2.
else not blance, take the group of 3 balls (heavier gp) and put one on each tray and leave the remaining one out.
If not blance, u got ur answer. Else if balance, the remaining one is the heavy one
weight the ball one by one
after weighing the 1st ball add another one
record the increase, all the increse should be constant except for one ball where the increase is more than the rest recorded.
u shd actually ask that question with 9 balls instead of 8...

asking 9 will give the idea of 3 sets of 3.
8 disguises the idea
Ya 9 balls is harder than 8 balls.
Firepig gave the answer for 8 balls liao
Hmm actually 9 ball also not that hard also. Come to think of it :x
why dun we make it harder.... as in how many time do u have to weight to find that balls with the abnormal weight. Meaning u duno if that one different ball is heavier or lighter.
say for 8balls and for 9 balls or even for 10 balls

how about you can only weigh 4 times for 80 balls?

in theory, itis 9 balls for the last two weight. so meaning, u can have 3 gp of 27 for upto 4 times of weighing. meaning the max for 4 weight is 81 balls.
split it to group of 27 balls and then to group of 9balls and finally 3balls.
it only start getting interesting only when u duno if the balls is heavier or lighter.... then u need to mix the balls in the group up... that is where the fun start.
4. You only have 2 tries with the weighs to tell find out the heavier ball.
please stick by the rules
2 weighs and two tries with weighs..
Hm..
When you mean '2 weighs', do you mean 2 weighing scales? Or what
Ok ASSUMING it's two weighing scales..
1: Split 8 into 2 groups of 4 and use one weigh to weigh them against each other. Eliminate the lighter one.
2: Split the remaining 4 into two groups of 2 and simultaneously use the two weighs to weigh each group - 1 vs 1, 1 vs 1
The ball that tilts down lowest is the heaviest
But if 2 weigh is not = 2 weighing scales, then..
donch know

yay. and so on and so forth.ya

again, u are weight it 3 x, more than 2x, game over.
i have no eye-deer

Haha I know this one.
1) Firstly, split 6 balls into two parts (3 each).
2) Weigh the 6 balls, 3 on each side.
Assumption 1:
If one side is actually heavier then the other, that means that the heavy ball is in one of those 3 balls on the heavier side. Now, take out all the balls and weigh 2 out of 3 of those balls. If you get one side heavier than the other, good for you cuz you got the answer. If both side is equal, the remaining ball out of the 3 that was not weighed is the heavy one.
Assumption 2:
If you weigh the 6 balls and both sides are equal in weight, that means that the heavy ball is in the remaining 2 not weighed. Now all you have to do is to weigh the 2 and find out which one is heavier.
A simpler way of explaining is to imagine that you are given 3 apples (1 heavier than the other 2) and you are supposed to find out which one is heavier (for this, 1 try on the weighing machine is already enough). You only got to weigh 2 of them. If both sides are equal that means the remaining one not weighed is the heavy one.
I cant be fudged to use my brain for the next few months. hahaha

Yup, this is the answer! Well done!
1. A sister shoots her little adorable brother. Then she holds him under water for over 5 minutes. Finally she hangs him. But 5 minutes later the sister brought the little brother to Mcdonald and has a great dinner together.
2. Three fifths of fifty
Half of eighteen
Add them together
You get fifteen!
Can you get it?
Joel had it last, Lindsay had it first, Norah Silly had it twice until she married Nicky Stupid and never had it again.
What is it?
