it's pretty safe. No one can take your money from knowing just your account number. They can't do anything with it as other details are needed for verification purposes (assuming the person is trying to withdraw your money)
then again, if you're trying to deposit money, just knowing the account number alone is good enough in most cases -
People can only give you money, not take from you.

imagine ah long get your account number, then transfer dirty money into your account, then they call you and they never say they ah long they say trasnfer to wrong account ask you transfer back to theirs. how?
you goof citizen transfer back. then somehow later police investigate and involve you . very free huh?!

ah longs are dumb. they cannot even check an ID and ensure that guy staying there. how smart are they? any police that is sadist hardcore one can easily make ah long life verydifficult. just we dont have this type of hero police in spore. ah longs are goondus you dont know meh?they ask those they in debt to open account, police also can easily check and get to ah longs.

go bank queue up, give them ur IC and say, gimme my money

its pretty safe though to give your account number out, if they were to use your account for illegal transactions, you can notify the bank that there is an unknown amount bank-ed into your account (if your honest). They wil do the necessary checks but normally the person who bank wrong will request first =S
withdrawal, quite simple, they will ask you to fill in the withdrawal form and then sign, unless yours is thumbprint. Depends on the amount if your signature good, they will not take your IC. if you withdrawing a large sum then bring your IC along.

sure or not, like that very dangerous. no matter what amount withdraw tthey will ask for your IC if yo do not have passbook, at least for POSB/DBS.

if its passbook account, if it's other accounts that doesn't require passbook, you don't really need your i/c to do withdrawal. But that's of course if you have your card or so. To play safe, most of them would request I/c

i believe any withdrawls they will request IC. if not any tom dick harry who knows otehr tom dick's harry account number and personal details and signature can just go bnak anyhow take money. they will request IC for non passbook..
