      and nowadays de plastic are made to even withstand up to 240 deg

      well known case was Liebeck vs McDonalds Restaurants

      i dont think they still serve it this hot, who can confirm?

      the crux was that McDonalds and several coffee chain serve extremely hot coffee that would instantly cause 3rd degree burns despite knowing this fact

      its not about knowing whether their coffee is hot or not

      "It contends that corporations have spent millions promoting misconceptions of tort cases in order to promote tort reform. In reality, the majority of damages in the case were punitive due to McDonald's' reckless disregard for the number of burn victims prior to Liebeck."
