Man Utd's Ronaldo admits injury frustration
Cristiano Ronaldo is confident of a full recovery from his ankle surgery at Manchester United.
Ronaldo was pictured jogging round United's Carrington training base last week after being given the green light to step up his rehabilitation.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has suggested the Portugal star will be out of action until the beginning of October although Ronaldo is targeting a return before then.
"I have never experienced a situation like this, being two months without kicking a ball. I just want to be fully recovered," he told Portuguese broadcaster SIC.
"I am not used to being sidelined. I feel sad, but the worst moment has already gone and I recognise that I must patient.
"I feel well, and the time of kicking a ball is coming. Playing football - this is what makes me happy."
Ronaldo has also been widely touted as a strong candidate for the FIFA world player of the year award and the 23-year-old believes he has a good chance.
He added: "I think that I had very positive campaign last season. It would be a dream that becomes reality to win it. Not any player has done what I did last season.
"I believe I can win it this year."

Tottenham's Berbatov snapped signing Man Utd shirt
Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov has been snapped signing a Manchester United shirt!
The Sun says Berbatov, 27, signed the shirt at Sofia Airport as he set off for Bulgaria's friendly in Bosnia-Herzegovina where he scored twice in a 2-1 win.
An onlooker said: "I was gobsmacked when he took the shirt and signed it.
"He didn't have any problems with it at all.
"If I was one of Berbatov's team-mates or a fan, I'd be furious. It is incredibly disrespectful - he may as well have kissed the United badge."
Spurs legend Jimmy Greaves said: "Signing the United shirt is certainly cheeky.
"He clearly wants to leave. If he doesn't want to stay they should get rid of him."

Man Utd to haunt Real Madrid again over Huntelaar
After winning the battle over Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United could return to haunt Real Madrid again this month.
El Mundo Deportivo says United are ready to move for Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar should Tottenham succeed in selling Dimitar Berbatov to Barcelona.
Real coach Bernd Schuster has urged his board to move for Huntelaar, but the striker is understood to favour a move to England. United could well embarrass Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon for a second time in a matter of weeks by winning the race for the Dutchman's signature.
yay... huntelaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar!

Man Utd launching bid for Valencia's Silva
Manchester United are launching a bid for Valencia winger David Silva.
Marca says United boss Sir Alex Ferguson rates Silva highly and sees him as an ideal foil for attacking Cristiano Ronaldo.
United are ready to offer £18 million for the Spain international, who is among the lowest paid players at Valencia, despite his Euro2008 heroics.
now suddenly marca somewhat on united's side... coz i think they'd make madrid more furious with this report
