well, advise your friend that sometime, parked at one destination and than took the mrt down to meet friend is also good :- 1. in case the other side donot have carprk lot escpecially when there are activities held there. 2. dun have to pay for erp or gantries especially chinatown.
u sometime, do left my car at home or to "free"carpark at the weekend and took mrt or bus with my family to orchard or chinatown as there alot of crowds and trafic flow will be slow.furthermore, we can walk and sightseeing as we shop around.
when one drive ,especially on the steering wheel, you can't enjoy the sight-seeing as u need to keep your eyes on the road than the passengers beside and at the rear of the car. they are enjoying all the fun. ask him to at least try out once.

Is it illegal to use white light on the head light such as LEd or HID or Orsam bulbs cos thinking of changing ....as sometime found that the head light dun really can see far when driving at nite where places have less street-light especially where there alot of trees branch over-growth out and cover the light beam.

unknown_X- yes you may be right to use diesel but not many cars are running diesel at present. as for hybrid -not sure went the battery can last and also it expensive to have a change or replacement of battery after the cycle is up.
well as for cng- it think there some grey areas that need to look at. our home cooking gas the hoses and the valve is a must that need to replace every 5 years worry. so what about cng.
so i think, have to wait and see wat next? as they may say it safe but how safe is it.

I heard there was once people arguing about this. And someone in the authority said that Saturday is still working day for some companies. And why does the free driving only start from 3pm on Saturday.the weekend scheme was not reverise since 1990. not forgetting not cutting short the rebate too.
I still find alot of ppl are confusing when buy the weekend car and they simply bo cha to take a look at the statement written on the contract/LTA policy.

try taking lesson in the day time such as weekend(sunday) or p. holiday at the morning around 9 to 11am. there willl be less car on the road and you can have more clear view.
cos it not working day and bus and big car/lorry is lesser. try it a few lesson and get use to the feeling of the interior eqpts such clutch, brake accelerator movement and the change shift knob/gear.
when u overcome the fear and can touch the eqpts with your feeling... man you can book and drive at any hour you want from there......

Well economic downturn everything can changed. Even if there a negiotation they will not fulfill their promise.
I think you can avoid filling petrol at that station or totally avoid filling up with that brand and go and use other brand of petrol.
Why not write to ST forums andlet eveyone notice it.

most insurane do cover up for leisure car drive to malaysia(12 or slightly more per year),as long as you do not drive to malaysia dailys every month. That you have to tell your insurance company to review your preium plan. It will be higher. It is to safe guard your car and accident preium on your passenger too. If not any accident ,there they will void your indurance claim.
Therefore, check with your insurance company,if you travelled more.
week-end car, you can drive there weekday too. if you can reach over to JB -immigrant before 7a.m. you can spend the whole day there driving, without the coupon and come back to singapore -immigrant after 7pm. You are safe.
i have try that a few years back when the weekend car scheme started during 1991.

i, almost met incident with a comfort taxi, yesterday morning at ECP. The taxi was signaling to turn to Bedok from ECP. I was travelling at 80km/h at the rear of him. He suddenly change his route and cut back to the ECP to east coast and slow down to the speed of 60km/h and i have to brake and slow the speed. Time 0700hrs.
From my view, he look sleepy as he was drive like he road belong to him and swing from centre lane to left lanes most of the time undecide which lane he want to keep in-line. After 1 minutes of following, I horm him at him, as i can see my rear mirror that vehicles are jammed up on the centre lanes. He(the taxi-driver ) didnot respond. Have to lookout and swing to the outer lane and overtake him. All the other vehicles too follow the overtaking. When pass a few metres ahead and look back, found that the taxi still "BOH Cha' keeeping on the centre lane at 60km/h.
Have taken down his number but wat can we do? His company is not going to take action? As we need witness.
It is best to install CCTV to it and take down the incident moment than submit to the press rather than to the company.
