    • I currently have spare cash of about $5k on hand and it sits there lying in the bank collecting dust and Im no avid fan of buying shares either. So what are the ways to invest this sum of money to finance for my studies? Im not into high risk investments as Im not very good with tat kind of stuffs and with the recent banks and insurance companies dying makes me even more afraid to dabble in such. Thanks.!

    • I used to have low confidence in myself....after these few yrs of polishing up my image and gaining valuable skills, i began to feel like a new person. In fact, I am on par with everyone else, or maybe sometimes even better than them. I hate to feel this way. Being a christian, we are taught to give unconditionally, but sumtimes u know how awful it feels being unable to do so?

U carefully weighs the pros and cons of every things, as if it is a transaction. The reason being u gave too much too much in the past and have gotten back nothing. So now is the time u get back everything hundredfold.

In fact, I dun like to mix around with people i consider inferior in character to me. I dun mind if they are not as good as me now but they should have least have the decent attitude to show that they have the drive in life. Seeing them as a lazy-slug reminds me of myself a few yrs back, those days, i would rather break a leg than study for exams. Now to think of it, i would give myself 2 tight slaps. so now I would even roll my eyes secretly if i see them approaching me. And of cos i know its not good to treat others this way. But I read about how too much in the bad company of others will lead to self-degradation. And only constantly being in the company of people superior to you will you improve.

And also to constantly strive to be the best? Some ppl may tink its a good thing but now Im beginning to feel the heat. It takes much effort to be 1 of the best and to stay there. Reminds me of zaizen goro from great white tower.

    • walowe....y all of u teach TS the wrong thing? Look at the chinese word "Love", there is a reason why the word "friend" is in there. Everything starts from being a friend first. From a friend to lovers then to lifetime companion, it takes much effort and feelings from both side and of cos fate plays a part too.

u think wad? In movies, the guy out of nowhere confess then the girl accept him ah? If u r filthy rich and handsome then maybe, otherwise forget it. Everything definitely have to start from being friends first, then work your way inside.

More haste less speed. If she really was never into you, its no point going after, again it is unlike in the movies where the guy keep going after the girl after being rejected so many times then happy ending girl accept him. NO! There are 6 billion people in this world and the ratio of guys to girls is skewed to guy's advantage :) Stop imagining there is 1 and only that super duper special girl for you. Its just ur heart deluding urself. Mix around with ppl, you'ld open up abd of course more choices. Love & Marriage is a natural yet mysterious thing, thats why it is so beautiful. U could probably work more on your characteristics, career, and other areas you need to improve on.

Im pretty sure you wanna find a rock-solid relationship which is based on trust and solid friendship at a base.

Anybody agrees with me pls raise ur hand pls.

    • Im thinking of renewing my 2yrs M1 contract which means Im eligible for handset promotion. I do not need the phone so Im selling the offer whoever wants it.

I will just take the line, the phone will be paid for and kept by the buyer. But I do need to see how much can I make from this deal first. SO any quotes from interested buyers?

Pls tell me the phone u want and the price you are willing to pay. For e.g. Nokia e71 is now at $398. Outside selling now $668 from mobilesquare. You could buy it using my line at $398 but of cos I need to make some profit since I dun need the phone.

Just tell me the price of the phone as indicated on the M1 website and the price you are willing to pay.

    • Anyone of you have recurring dreams or nightmares? I dun mean like dreaming screwing the hot girl in ur class over and over. What i really mean is those dreams that maybe trying to tell u sumthing.

I have this dream before. Well, I could say it was a nightmare. I was wondering in this building....a quite run-down building, alone. Then walk walk walk..i explored around, no ppl, no nth.....its like those old shopping complex in singapore. Then finally I went to the highest level and I saw this really eerie floor. It was like so obvious....I peeked upwards and saw it was totally dark, I probably saw a big dark abyss above....I could imagine the amount of evil creatures lurking in within It was so huge I could feel as though as giant monster would jump out. Ok that's it. I duno why there wasnt any particular monsters or anything but it still sent chills down my spine.

And just yesterday I dreamt I visited the same place again! omg!!! This time I got inside the abyss!! I was exploring inside...and could totally sense the amount of evil lurking already.....it was like a greenish...yellow brown floor.....then next minute I was falling....falling downwards....and i saw several strange creatures in the shape of I duno? A purple stick-like structure??

Then I woke up...and I linked the 2 dreams together......they were the same! How could I have recurring dreams? Where is this place? What is it trying to hint me? I mean recurring dreams about the same person I understand but about the same place?????

    • lets say for guys...in class there's this girl who is paying particular attention to you.....like ask u to accompany her here n there......will u actually do it? Its like if the other girls see you always around this girl, they will tend to like assume you are wanted by this particular girl and try to stay away just in case of incurring the other girl's wrath and boom there goes your chance of the other trees? Would u actually actually enjoy the company of jus 1 girl or rather keep your options open?

    • Ya...I agree MDIS admin sucks. But its lecturers are very good! Im currently biomedical sciences there and I must say im suprised at the standard of the lecturers. All of them holds a PhD in their specialized fields and they all did postdoctoral research overseas such as Oxford, Australia national university, Rutgers. And some of them holds a senior position in some companies. They are here to teach because they have a passion for imparting knowledge to students who really want to learn. E.g. 1 of my lecturer has a wealth of experience in physics and life science. He did his Physics PhD in rutgers university and currently is also a managing director of an IT company. At first I thought they were not credible until I really went to google their published scientific papers and CV. And suprise suprise they are for real~ They are really helpful if you ask them questions or email them. Well, it really depends on urself.

You can be a first class student doing ur BSc in a not-so-good university and distinguish urself or you can be a lousy student studying in harvard and still play all day long. You yourself are the key factor in determining your future.

    • I have seen this phenomenon so many times. When a good looking guys attempts to touch a lady, the lady not only does not reject his advances but even seems to be indulged in it. And no I dun mean touch all over the body.....only touch the hand here probably examining her nail polish stuffs like that.

And whenever even an ugly guy tries to get close to the same lady, she seems like she got her defense mechanism up and will do anything to make sure he doesnt touch her....so realistics de huh?

    • handsome guys simply just need to charm a girl wif looks and abit of sweet-talking here n thr and wait until the girl confess.

Average or ugly guys needs to work their ass off trying to impress the girls and in the end, 50% of the time still fail.

      Why?

I thought the looks doesnt matter for a guy? My friends say guy looks are still important lei...like good-looking then the girl will automatically give him chance. ugly, the girl will either blast him off or take a very long time to see his heart.

anyway, handsome guys or cute guys better? There is a very big difference between them.

      Thanks.

    • Anybody went backpacking in europe before? Im thinking of doing it this nov...so being inexperienced and abit afraid to venture into backpacking alone because of the uncertainties, I probably would like to seek people who have been there done that or maybe even form a small group who are interested in going.

I feel i have been alive for 22yrs old and I have been never been able to explore the world. We live in only 1 tiny dot called singapore and there is such a HUGE world out there. My take is if I dun take the chance to explore the world at least for once, I probably would be too busy particpating in the rat race busy lifestyle in future.

CMon, anybody who got experiences in this?

    • sibei cham la....23yrs old already still my friend think MLM can really make him rich...all those fancy luxurious cars the managers telling them are making him salivate. Dare to tell me somemore his manager earn 5 figure salary with only olevels cert. say only mah....i can tell everybody i earn 5 figure income. why huh?

The truth is right in front of them, there are so many failed examples lying wasted yet they cant see, they can only see the illusion of being rich in the shortest time possible. And to date, he still have not earned a single cent....ok actually I think he earned a few hundred bucks but only after selling quite a number of shitty products and devoted few months to it.

He was in the sunshine empire lor..............say here good there good everywhere good. All my advice have fallen on deaf ears. He can talk about the investments plans here and there the company give then wad so many have joined them to invest. But in the end, cant even answer how the company works internally. All the money go where he cant answer, only can answer " In few yrs u see, i drive big car make 5 figure salary" I only know that it takes hard work to achieve great things, not by doing MLM. In fact, NOBODY i know ever made it BIG in MLM. Those who did always failed to provide proof. cocksters....

      Haiz....

    • Today I went for my first driving lesson! Having absolutely no experience and no wadsoever interests in cars, I was totally new to handling a car inside the CDC circuit. It was kinda mind-boggling!!! I was nervous because it was my first time using the steering wheel, handling the clutch and accelerator. Woah...my heart was kinda skipping every other beat because the stupid driver in front of me will sumtimes accidentally brake to a stop with no warning and I would brake too. Then the instructor will diao me.

I was damn worried that I would over step too hard on the accelerator and it would be a michael schumacher gone drunk. How did u all feel first time actually controlling a vehicle? I think with a few more practice will be fine le.

Got a couple of scoldings from the instructor as I was confused about the clutch thingy.I heard from my aunt it was pretty normal and she herself learnt lots of colourful hokkien language from her instructor. I guess mine instructor got give face.

    • How can I help my friend who is currently in MLM? He's a stick in the mud who thinks of big houses, luxurious cars and he tinks he can simply get all of those by doing MLM. Thanks to those bastards, he has been completely brainwashed. He keep bringing up the fact the you know bill gates michael dell no degree also can become billionaire. But wtf...yea i know but at least they are selling things!!! Their invented products! These damn MLM are selling like magnetic bracelets, mattress and hell, they only get like 1% of the whole commission.

On top of that, the damn company doesnt give them a basic pay but kept promising them if their downlines blah blah blah sell alot, then they will get a commission from their downline and at a exponential rate, they can afford big cars and house liao.

But so far, he has been thr for like 3 yrs, and I dun see any damn results from him. In fact, he has thrown in money to buy the products for himself and selling them off. I think he has made an overall loss. But its okay to make a loss, but its a damn waste of time!!!! He's like keep wishing he can make it big in MLM. But seriously speaking, even a retard beanstalk can see it's all a SCAM!!!

I try to point this out to him but he always seems to get angry like Im trying to cut off his "fortune path". ARGHHH......of cos if he went for legal business like opening a company of his own, or what I will definitely support him but now hes like doing all these shitty things cos he doesnt believe in studies, he thinks its a waste of time though....but what he doesnt realise is the opportunities it brings, the knowledge...haiz. How? How to help him? The companies like to attract people like him who works for the company without offering a basic pay and they will actually put their heart and souls for the companies who treat them like dirt. Pls God, let these those companies burn in hell.

    • I have always thought of others before myself, quite sensitive to other people's feelings, so much so that I would do abit of self-sacrifice in order not to inconvenience others. I would try to put others before me, its okay since I thought i wouldnt die giving a little. I try to be the good man, prefering not to spread rumours, backstab or even hatch malicious plots against people or even my own enemies. I try to forgive my enemies, how foolish?

I do not even have the courage to step on a tiny poor ant as I thought the ant has its own families too, killing it I thought, was a grievous sin.

I always try to have the good guy image because I believe it was right to do so after witnessing in movies that evil never triumphs over good. Or does it?

      That was once me.

Now no-action-talk-only colleagues gets the promotions, the boss recognition. Selfish people gets all the spoils. People who hides ulterior motives wins the battle. Enemies try to take you down before you can even greet them. This is reality.

I am a catholic. All the above I have experienced with my eyes have induced in me a feeling of "survival of the fittest". But that somehow collides with my christianity beliefs where I'm supposed to forgive my enemies, make peace, help others even at the expense of myself. I guess it's time to change my mindset.

God favours the bold. It's okay to do a little bad if the overall benefits exceeds the bad. It's okay to commit a little sin if you want to protect yourself from being hurt. It's okay to break the rules if everybody is doing the same, it is just that they dun tell u and nobody knows it. It's okay to stand in the shadows and strike before the enemies does, because its only a matter of time before they take you down.

I'm not as benevolent as jesus who prayed for God to forgive his enemies. I'm human, imperfect.

what are your views? As the saying goes, when a horse is kind, people rides on it. When a person is kind, people bullies him. Kingdoms and wars were won not by being compassion, but by being merciless to the people opposing your beliefs.

<!--===========CAPTION==========-->South Korean leader Lee Myung-Bak says he would donate his salary to help the underprivileged.<!--===========/CAPTION=========-->

      <!-- /PURGE: /2008/WORLD/asiapcf/03/31/south.korea.salary/art.myungbak.afp.gi.jpg --><!--endclickprintexclude-->

Lee Myung-Bak made the pledge during an unscheduled meeting with reporters Sunday in the press room of his presidential office, the state news agency reported.

The president said he would donate his salary during his entire five-year term.

Lee is a former CEO of an engineering and construction company with a vast personal fortune. As mayor of Seoul from 2002 to 2004, Lee donated his salary to the children of street cleaners and firefighters.

"I promised to spend my whole salary earned as a public official on public welfare," Lee told reporters. "My plan to donate the presidential salary to the underprivileged is an extension of that promise."

The news agency did not say how much the president earns in a year.

During the election campaign, Lee, 66, vowed to donate his entire personal fortune of more than 30 billion won ($30.2 million) to the poor. He said at the time he would keep only a retirement house in Seoul.

I read about him, he worked as a garbage collector before studying hard for university and worked long hours at his job before being promotoed to the top guy at his company. read all about him at wikipedia. HE also replaced all his luxury cabinet chairs with normal utility furnitures.

BUT the question is    CAN OUR MINISTERS BE LIKE HIM??? pay themselves so high somemore....
