Those 4 based on their performance and foothold in SE Asia countries..Any engine that can perform in SE Asia weather can also perform in other countries. As for Cummins there're way better than the early 2000s ones..Have an improvement over the years

Let us see once school holidays is over..

Man built one of the best reliable engine out there . Just go to YouTube and type in MAN U boat engine and you will see why . U boat engine with Man engine survive until today and still running strong . A 1920s MAN engine is still running strong is what I call reliability.  And also MAN has bigger parts here given STK is their distributor.  Is not that I hate Volvo but I just don't like the Swedish as the Swedish thinks they are better then everyone because they got a Alps .

Did I mentioned MAN is not reliable ??Ive drive MAN tipper truck also during a short stint at a construction company.I have drive the sole SBST MAN 18.240 during my training days.MAN,MB,Volvo,Scania is the most reliable all weather engine so far I have seen.

Also, heard that another batch of MANs is due for transfer to SBST, including, some say, a batch 2 A95 with charging ports

BCM is about SBST & SMRT,You just knew ah?B9TL is already SBST-Spec,MAN buses is SMRT-spec..Even if the buses go for refurbish, its still need to follow the spec

As for Mercedes Benz.. It's Game Over a long time ago..

Volvo is the strongest competitor in terms of its strong reliability and easy to get parts. As for ADL they have lots to do to convince LTA.Scania also game over..For electric powertrain,BYD stand a chance

    • Similar like the transition between SMRT to TTS previously using those 3xxx A22 except this time doesn't involved Enviro500 but a few A95 instead together with B9TL & Citaro

    • MAN/STK always have the edge over its competitors but I don't rule out the demo Euro6 B8L too since they've already established here.ADL might have 50/50 chance compared to Scania and probably Mercedes-Benz unless the former can make something like Citaro three axles DD for SG market.

Update - Sgwiki says sg2017 is indeed a Euro 6 bus

      I feel it's really euro 6 D2066 LUH-51 engine.Quite smooth and quiet.Thats the reason why the rego is 2017.

      Btw,is 172 & 983 BC interchangeable?5139P on 172 was done by an ex 983 A22 BC for AM shift today.983 BC also change a lot after fleet upsize.Some move to 300,302 & 927 etc.

Sometimes those perm BCs also change service once a while or maybe some of the 172 duty end early.

I also drive other service 4-5 times in a month.Examples if I got appointment the next day and my service 3 duty ends at 1500 and couldn't find other service 3 who ends early to change,The last resort is to ask the Despatcher if there any other service which I know ends early
