lawyer lah.. or doctor... use ur brains... btw i think u r the one who started bragging..Originally posted by Gazelle:It is easy, I write my thesis, my wife correct my grammar. In fact, I did pretty well for most of the papers, except those management subjects that require long a s s essays.
As for my job, I am in business development and when I need to draft a formal contract or agreement, I just pass it to my assistant or companyÂ’s lawyers. That easy is it! J
If you want to know why my company is paying me 5 figures per month, it is because I am a man with vision, someone who can strategize business for the company to compete with the global market. Do you need English to do this? I don’t think so. in fact, some of the big guns that I deal with doesn’t even speak a word of English and they really don’t give a damn if you write perfect English or not, what they want to know is “Where is the Money”
Since I have already share with you about myself, can I then know if you are married, attached or single? I must say that I am shock to learn that you are making “easily 1 thousand Singapore dollars per day”, can I know what kind of job pay you so much and allow you to waste your time in this forum? Since you are making about $365,000 per year, I am sure you must be a millionaire by now? How does it feel to have so much money? Do you find love in money?

Another example of typical sg women. Is money so important that you need to sacrific your love and family life to pay for your apartment?Originally posted by fymk:Easy for you to say when you have it all.
Why sg women don't want kids and are so fussy about their partners- because it is practical to do so. I had to migrate to get a higher paying job, study to get even higher pay and at least get the banks to lend me the money to buy my current apartment in Australia. Do I want a relationship and then children? No. I have too much on my plate right now . I can't, let alone , pay off my apartment in full yet ( at least I settled 60% of the loan) . After tax , bills, mortgage and basic shopping needs , I have enough to save for a comfortable retirement in 40 years.
However , when I think of those back home who don't even have a fortune of securing a job , or those who get paid meagrely - I think I am much better off in my greener pastures. How many women are paid highly? How many singaporeans can boast that they get paid a 5 figure sum or let alone over 2k per month? Not many. Don't blame it on singaporean women's mentality . Look at the Singaporean society - we are all about money- not for fun , but out of basic survival. Regrettably some have extended basic survival to maids - why? Because both parents need to work and they need someone to upkeep the place . This is no longer the 1960s/1970s/1980s where the mother is also a loving housekeeper. Haven't you heard of inflation and rising cost? Parents have to both work to upkeep their children's future, pay the bills, pay off the HDB flat ( which don't come cheap), pay the medical bills , buy the necessities .Oh I forgot you took up Masters of International Business or whatever .
Need I remind you that most singaporean parents equate education to monetary success in life too? Shallow mindedness has been inbuilt into society as a whole , not just the women. Men , being traditionally breadwinners, are expected to "succeed " in education to "succeed" in jobseeking , predominantly of managerial preference. So don't blame women for being the shallow minded ones.
My dad would object to my boyfriends if he thinks they are not "UP TO STANDARD" or have "NO FUTURE". That is a man who breached poverty to become well-to-do now- and that is my father. By far , all my Singaporean boyfriends , rich and poor, have been rejected by him as not good enough , stupid or useless. If you want to generalise sg women like that , wait til you meet my dad generalising the modern generation of Singaporeans now as "soft and pliable". I don't even escape his scrutiny .
I cook just about any cuisine - my colleagues love my food. I housekeep my own place - and *surprise surprise * I am a typical singaporean woman. Do I want to housekeep? Not really . It is exhausting to do so after my work. I work and pay for my postgrad education at the same time. I pay my own bills , buy my own things. MY own MONEY, not the PARENTAL type.
I wasn't pampered - I worked from 15 years old to buy my own clothing and my little creature comforts because my father said if I wanted my own things , I could buy them myself. My dad could easily get stuff for me but he refused. We could get a maid but my mom said my sis and I have to learn to pick up after ourselves. In fact I could have gotten alot of things from my parents but I didn't. Yet I am but a typical singaporean woman.
Don't generalise. Look at the bigger picture.
Well , there is love lost over arguing about finances. Do I want my children to suffer like my father in his childhood? No. Of course I need the money. Money is important but money may not be everything. Who pays the bills? Who buys the food? Who pays for rent? Who pays the mortgage? Who pays for the kids' education? clothing? books? Love going to do all that? Sorry money does that.Originally posted by Gazelle:Another example of typical sg women. What I sad story. I hope you will enjoy living by yourself.

Do I want to be homeless? No. I think I rather have shelter over my head. I am talking money for essentials, NOT money to squander on branded stuff.
Then again , it is easy for you to comment about money and love, Mr 5-figure-sum-monthly guy.
You choose to be a superwomen, who can you blame?Originally posted by fymk:Gazelle , what you are saying is like what Marie Antoinette said when told about the starving poor.
She said : "Let them eat cake" (when they couldn't even buy bread)
So what do you call a company vision statement?Originally posted by fymk:Individuals with visions are/have either 1.mental illness (i.e. delusions), 2. pride, 3. deceptional qualities, or 4. divine human beings.
1. Mental illness comes with a stigma or a stigmata (*ouch!*) at times.
2.Pride comes before a fall.
3. Deceptional qualities - conning and oratory qualities of extraordinary levels which entitle them to do what ever they want until they make a slip up when they have too much pride (see no.2). Almost like used car salesmen , except they deceive more people than just the customer.
4.Divine human beings (i.e. saints) usually get matyred in the end - in some form (*ouch!*).
Yes , and how much must he make per month? the 5 Cs?Originally posted by Gazelle:Your husband.
Companies are just like empires. They rise , they fall. Vision statements are just creative illusions for the common and potential shareholders/workers , to show them that the company will do well, boost their morale etc.Originally posted by Gazelle:So what do you call a company vision statement?
Does it work?Originally posted by fymk:Companies are just like empires. They rise , they fall. Vision statements are just creative illusions for the common and potential shareholders/workers , to show them that the company will do well, boost their morale etc.
Deceptional quality is what i stick to vision statements when I read them.
It does - that is why people get conned everydayOriginally posted by Gazelle:Does it work?
obviously u did not understand fymk, as can be seen so clearly from your response. do u ask your wife this question when she cleans your floor with detergent?Originally posted by Gazelle:Does it work?
agree. to gazelle: did u not hear abt IBM? no one stays at the top forever... changing times will bring them down one day. in some cases, totally dumb employees can do the same too. those parading with half truth, quarter logic statements and their international bizness masters degrees.Originally posted by fymk:Companies are just like empires. I think his sweeping generalizations are based on what he derives as fact which could be in fact a fallacy. He didn't date the whole population of stereotypical sg women to earn the right to make his comments.Originally posted by thinger:bah. i just chanced across this thread. its early in the morning and im tired.
i cant believe everyone is taking the piss out of gazelle because although some of his points are based on sweeping generalizations, there is a little bit of truth in what he says. Its also pretty obvious that he wouldnt have come up with that pile of shit for fun, so its pretty safe to assume that his generalizations are based on factual actual happenings.
ged, your witty sense of humor is excellent.
you're hilarious
you're amazingly amusing
now how about you shove you head up your arse and quit trying to impress everyone?
His generalizations, in other words, are made from his personal experiences and probably hearsay.Originally posted by thinger:Its also pretty obvious that he wouldnt have come up with that pile of shit for fun, so its pretty safe to assume that his generalizations are based on factual actual happenings.
