Why not all go and read "men are from Mars, Women are from Venus"....
Thinger, u r trying to proof based on Hypothesis... ie if any one of the SGP gals in the sample selected agreed to the statement that SGP gals are the 10 listed, then Garzelle claim is correct... and vice versa.
Problem is there will always be both type of the people in the sample... it is not so clear cut as i black & white. As in all the forums (the one for juticelegal also)... cannot use one bamboo to kick all people off the boat.
Garzelle is stating his observation...whereas most of the others forumites are trying to proof him wrong.

I respectfully disagree with you on the point about "typical" - like elindra said, it has a connotation of the majority, and is therefore a generalisation. To have the grounds to make such a claim, Gazelle would have needed to take a significant sample of the female Singaporean population, and it's pretty obvious that he's extrapolated his conclusion from a series of bad personal experiences. Those are inadequate grounds for his claims.
I had a number of obejctives in taking this line with Gazelle:
The first was to get past his thin veneer of politeness and get him to reveal his true attitudes about women. As you can see in his posts here, he really does have a rather horrifying and crude perspective - certainly he displays no respect for women.
Second, I strongly suspected that he was being driven by an inferiority complex. Sure enough, his responses have demonstrated that trend. A bonus is a growing indication that his claims are false.
Third, I'll admit it - I'm just the sort of guy who loves schadenfreude. It's been a good chortle running rings around him.
Hopefully you can see the method behind my madness. Beyond the mockery, I take a very dim view of such attatudes towards women. If it took vicious humour to reveal the lowness of the attitude driving Gazelle's list, so be it - that omelette took a few broken eggs and I'm not going to apologise for that.
As for the "head up the arse" issue, hey, I read it as a challenge and responded as such. No blood, no foul.

To me a rolex and a swatch are watche that are swiss made. The only difference is one cost $10K and the other $150. I guess you think that by wearing a Rolex you are some big F in the high society. To me that is throwing money away, and I would rather use this money to retire my home loan and be debt free.

How do you define the role of a wife? Are you following the old parameters of
1. Bearing Kids
2. Looking after Kids
3. Looking after parents and parents-in-law
4. Do all the housework
5. Serve her husband hand and foot
6. Depend on her husband for daily expenses
The society and standard of living does not allow that anymore. With more women going out to work, the so called 'role of a wife' has changed dramatically and guys have to help out too.
Of course I do know of families where the wife literally slave for the family because she works and does all the housework as well. However, please do keep in mind that not many women are willing to do that. -

Even though both swatch and Rolex are both swiss made and production-line style production, both of them is targeted and marketed to different groups of consumers. All end consumers products are differentiate based on the preceived quality, i just depends on which products u put emphasis on. You may have an urge for good cars (I remember that you have a continential car)... I stick to watches -
