just make sure you dont go to the casino and end up contributing to the New Singapore Shares.Originally posted by Elfred:Well, I'm looking for a min $15,000 per annum New Singapore Share with the coming of the Casino. Hopefully, that'd improve individuals' personal economy as well.
Else what's the use of having a Casino for Singaporeans whereby only the economic figures go up, yet Singaporeans remain dry from the billions gamblers (eg) from China would throw onto the table?
Easy money. Please share the loot... that's the best way to justify.
Anyone wanna petition?![]()
The incumbent goes all the way to lure people to put monies in to build us toys, why not go? Hehehehe...Originally posted by dragg:just make sure you dont go to the casino and end up contributing to the New Singapore Shares.![]()

Is PAP Govt run out of ideas to create jobs?
The best argument for having casino is it would create many jobs.Has govt run out of ideas to create more jobs for S'pore in future and has to resort to depend on gambling business?
Perhaps the govt should engage an economic advisor from foreign country or consider engaging me?
3.7% is official statistics n u cannot really believe everything frm ST...Originally posted by earthlings73:hmm.. from where? =P

well said.. to be sure, it's one of the first efforts by our government to be more liberal than to be conservative..Originally posted by wannabat:it is interesting for LKY to share his story abt his father being a compulsive gambler n i think there is a elements of truth abt whether we can afford NOT to have the casino.
What has led us to come to such a stage. Is it because of rising China, India, or our surrounding neighbours has catches up. Any take on this.
Or is it that we have too much scholarly goverment people thats thinks the same as to how our country should be run ie. they have run out of ideas to led Singapore in this global race.
WHY do we need a CASINO in the first place. LKY mentioned that government turn away F1, are there any others "HOT" money-making opportunities that we have turn away, lost like Disneyland due to our "straitjacket" government pple. Pls comment.
Many people have commented that Singapore is sterile, clinical etc but why, in the past, LKY government has done a marvelous job of susbtaining Singapore where Singaporeans work hard, strive and become what we are today. What is it today that is different. Can our government leaders led us to a new millinenium.
What has changed. Economic dynamics. Does it takes a scholar to tell us that casino makes money. If we succeed, does that means that Singapore will forever be changed, i mean our social values of honesty, thrive and generosity. Will we degenerate into a money-obssessed nation with no regards to our fellow-countryman.
if we failed, what is our recourse. Close down the casino. What is next.
It is scaring, it means that Singapore no longer has a choice. Casino is for survival. It is not about Singaporeans maturity, it is for Survival, in the next 20 - 50 years.
Think, how can we help our beloved Singapore. What changed can we bring about to our education system, the epitome of our pure academic acheivers, where these "classroom" leaders will lead us. Are we having too much emphasis on academic acheivements. What can we do to ensure that our next generation leaders are streetsmart, extraordinary, destined for high office and be a truly statesman like LKY. Can there be another LKY.
Where is Singapore strategic advantage, a tiny red dot in the world. What can we do to make Singapore a humane, meritocratic, and fair society where Singaporeans welfare are considered first and foremost by the government.
Pls have your take.
Yes, there is a casino in Ger..whats yr pointOriginally posted by earthlings73:and is there a casino in germany? the answer is YES!
so what does the "social benefits" have anything to do with the casino? or the government ability to create jobs?
With our system..we have killed any chance of any LKY from ever appearing.Originally posted by wannabat:it is interesting for LKY to share his story abt his father being a compulsive gambler n i think there is a elements of truth abt whether we can afford NOT to have the casino.
