Now 1 year is up. I cancelled it becos I do not wish to pay annual fees for the following year.
The card was cancelled but I still have to pay the annual fees!
Really sucks big time!
The card was cancelled but I still have to pay the annual fees!if you have indeed cancelled the card, they will not ask you to pay the fee. Even if they have bill to you, you can still cancel and need not pay.
Hahaha, I beg to differ. Citibank is at the VERY bottom of my list. I dunno why people keep saying their service is good. For me, it Sucks real bad, and I've experienced it more than once. My sister's boss got fed up of the bank too (oh yes, they managed to piss off a REAL BIG customerOriginally posted by Gazelle:I believe it is not just DBS card, cause I would think that all other credit card offered by local banks is the same. If you want to have a reliable card, I would suggest that you try citibank. IMHO I think they are the best in Singapore.
You might want to tell us what kinda of bad experience you and you sis's boss have with Citibank?Originally posted by Poopie-Head:Hahaha, I beg to differ. Citibank is at the VERY bottom of my list. BTW, many other banks offer waiver of annual fees when i call them up to cancel. DBS, OCBC, BOC, etc etc. And I recommend BOC for its best rates for currency conversion![]()

yes, i tried alot of banks incl Standard Chart, HSBC, DBS, OCBC, etc etc (last time got habit of collecting cards LMAO) and found out BOC is best for xfer rate and i've tried it more than once. I'll stick to it permanently for this.Originally posted by oldbreadstinks:?? boc? bank of china?
Personally I dont see any benefit in what you have mentioned. BOC might offer a better Forex rate (I believe this is due to Yuan being peg to the USD), but their rate can never be as good as those offer by local money changer.Originally posted by Poopie-Head:yes, i tried alot of banks incl Standard Chart, HSBC, DBS, OCBC, etc etc (last time got habit of collecting cards LMAO) and found out BOC is best for xfer rate and i've tried it more than once. If I am going for a holiday trip, I would prefer to bring along cash or traveller cheque, and by doing so, you can avoid paying commission to credit card company.. If I am worried about carrying too much cash, I would usually draw cash from overseas ATM machine that have a "PLUS" sign and it will still be cheaper than going through credit card company.
If I am travelling for business, I usually wont border about what rate the credit card company charge because my company will be paying for it.
You mentioned earlier that Citibank card is rank bottom of your list, can you tell us why you said that?
No I dont work for bank. I am just sharing my bad experience with local banks.Originally posted by Poopie-Head:ah, becoz i frequently buy stuff from overseas online, and I also travel. That's why i prefer to have a lower rate, u will be surprised some banks charge much higher than the average!
Traveller's cheque very troublesome, cant use for online purchase. PLUS sign ATMs, etc their rates are all dependant on the bank isnt it? If u use a Credit card for PLUS ATM withdraw, then its worse, they charge 3% (i tink) more.
I have many cases where BOC gives me a rate LOWER than what i check from xe.com!
As for citibank, no further commentsdont tell me u are a staff?
