Regarding Cycling on the roads and pavement

I took this out from the recent Straits Times(i forget the date).
The Police(or wat...i forget) made a rule that we are not allowed to cycle to cycle on the pavement. What about small children? Are they given an exception?
Furthermore, what about teenagers bikers like me who are not experienced enough to cycle on the roads with other cars which are travelling very fast? Accidents could easily occur.
And the article stated that cyclists are fighting for space on the pavement with other pedestrians.
Solutions i suggest(wonder whether it is feasible):
1) On crowded pavements, the bikers should ride on the grass patch or select other alternative routes like on the road for a short period of time
2) Climb down the bike and push it along SLOWLY
3) Be more polite and say EXCUSE ME( i notice a lot of impolite teenagers just riding past crowds)
4) In the case when there are a few persons blocking the way, just brake and move slowy or follow solution (2)
Lastly, is it possible for the Police to alert the public on the measures/solutions above? Maybe they should review the policy on disallowing the public to ride bikes on the pavement. Pardon me for any of my grammar or spelling mistakes please. -

I have always supported the idea of having a cycling lane at places where there is significant bicycle traffic (e.g. near MRT). This is practise is many european countries.

I have always wanted to push all the fuckwad cyclists who get in my way on the pavement onto the main road to get run over by oncoming traffic. The only thing stopping me is the threat of jail and fine, and of course the hangman.

I scold them off almost every morning or after work while I was walking back home or on the way to work, because they irritates me, they keep on tailing our back and never even say excuse me or hello or something and some of them only just keep on ringing their stupid bicycle bells and this irritates me, well maybe I'm not the only one who really gets irritates easily, they change my mood you see every morning.
There have been several times I scolded some Bangladesh cyclist and they scolded me back and they smiled at me and then cycled away.
Well some of the residents also cycled their way by using the pavement as well and I find that these really selfish and inconsiderate cyclist should be put to a halt
The Government must do something to these so called uneducated cyclist
They love to ring their bells while we were walking, there's some big space for them to cycled but why must they chose the pavement
it's for us to use and not for them to happily cycled through us
They're just simply ignorant, snobbish, selfish, inconsiderate, irresponsible, s**ts of cyclist who only think of themselves.
I wish there's a new space build for them to cycle in peace but not the pavement definitely not the pavement -

Please don't tarnish all cyclists with the same brush. I stop for elderly people and children when I'm on the pavement, and I dismount if I need to pass a pedestrian from behind.
What about pedestrians at East Coast Park and Bishan Park who get in the way of cyclists by using the cycle paths? Some just happily lenggang-lenggang...do they know how to read signs, or do they have a death wish?
I've always objected to the law banning cyclists from the pavement because the infirm and many cyclists who don't know the highway code (like teenagers) would be put at greater risk. Just observe the way motorists leave little room for us...and let's not forget the man who was run over by the impatient bus driver last week. -

I`ve a bucnch of gd frens to cycle with
most of the time i`ll be on the road...
when we use road the drivers kao beh
when we use pavement the pedestrians kao beh
thou ive been a considerate rider
i cant be sure of the others
also i`ve enuff encounters w rude drivers/pedestrians too
i can too junk them together and put a death sentence to them too?? -
Perhaps the cyclists can try walking instead. At the end of the day I feel pedestrians should be able to have free use of pavements without being at risk of getting hit by bicycles. Those who choose to cycle should be willing to risk their lives on the main road.

As the cyclist who was quoted in the papers said, "I'd rather be fined than be 6 feet underground." (Of course I know most of us here are cremated when we die)

Then don't use the zebra crossings and the green men. You will also run the risk of getting hit - and killed - and there are overhead bridges.
And what's going to stop you from getting hit by killer litter, falling tree branches or a skidding car while you're walking along a bicycle-less walkway?
If you don't like cyclists but are too scared crapless to tell them off in public, walk only on rainy days.
There are pedestrians who also walk on grass patches and litter our neighbourhoods. They should be banished or made to ride bicycles. -

actually, my pet peeves when I'm in a car are jaywalkers, cyclists, and motorcyclists.
