This guy is a douche bag who clearly does not understand the degree to which the UN is held in low regard by many, many Americans. Comments like his will do nothign to foster the UN's image in this country. -

Your quote sounds very familar. And many american are very unhappy with secretary Donald Rumsfield right now. I for one want to see him go. I am also extremely dissatisfied at the current administration. Bush has angered many americans, yet somehow he got re-elected. It angers me so much that americans would put their seal of approval on his actions by re-electing him. And I wholeheartedly agree with the UN's decision to not support the war in Iraq. I hope after the Iraqi election this next month the new Iraqi government will ask us to leave and get out of there. I don't want any more of my fellow countrymen to die for such a worthless cause (oil). In the first place the US ruffled more than just a few feathers in the UN when they invaded Iraq without the blessings of the latter.
I'm curious to know.... does that make the US invasion of Iraq illegal? -
It is difficult to define what is illegal in the realm of international relations. Laws are more concrete when written for use inside of a country's borders, "laws" meant to be used on an international basis are less strict and are more of an agreement between states.
A lot of people can say the US-led invasion of Iraq was "illegal" because it did not have the UN's blessing, however even though I do not agree with the war I do not think it is illegal. The point I was making above is merely that what one country views as illegal on a foreign-policy standpoint might be legal in another state. -
The United States government does what it wants knowing that nobody is going to stand in its way.
If Mr Rumsfield is serious about improving the morale of the troops, perhaps his resignation and suicide will do much to bring a smile to their faces. The lazy sod was recently found using an autopen in his letters of condolences to the families of slain servicemen and women. -

They can fight and destroy countries who doesn't agree with their policies. USA government spends more money destroying lives than saving lives (look at the iraqi war, afghanistan war etc). To be fair , there are american civilians out there doing their bid to help out. -
US are actually in poor plight..... think.... just months back US itself meet the flood which cost billion of dollar and many lives. But did any other country donate any $$$ or sending help? Its sending 350million now.
When there is trouble US send troops and $$$ to help. Others dont dare to send because? simple reason..... $$$ and dont want its troops to die and jeopardize its seat as president or party.
Giving the oil contract to US firm i think its OK as they spend hardship, $$$ and lives to freed the iraqi, save the kurdish and kuwaiti. You get wat u pay.... its fair and square in the world. At least the Iraqi get to work and share the nation wealth rather than making more Saddam golden toilet and killing Iraq lives.
Why France and Russia strongly opposed the attack? COs they supply firearm to Saddam and US break their lucartive earning even they knowing that Saddam is a devil!!!! Worst still.
If wait until everything is legal by UN then all the Kurdish or maybe Kuwaiti will long died liao.... UN only have power on law biding country but they cant even do anything with those nasty country.

The CIA (note: USA) was actually the one who installed Saddam Hussein because he was more willing to listen to them back in the old days. When an old dog bites its master - u kill it - that is why they are so keen on overthrowing Saddam because he refused to bow to them anymore. They are now installing a puppet type of iraqi government ,which could be just like the old saddam regime , as long as the government bows to them each time - they won't care about the said actrocities.
And if you read the news, the "weapons of mass destruction" cannot be found in iraq at all. That was the excuse used to invade an oil rich country.
Afghanistan was an excuse to show their military might can help their people suffering from the 9/11 disaster. Well , George bush jr cannot be seen doing nothing so there u go - afghanistan and then linking a Sunni muslim iraqi president Saddam to a shiite muslim terrorist like Osama . That's a joke. It is like saying the IRA will cease to exist in northern ireland today. -

well japan did give 500 million...150 mil more than the US but hey, for a country to far away and who actually does not have to do anything for the region cause its nearby..350 mil is a lot...the UN is just useless bullcrap, nothing but a facade. its paving the way for a one leader world dictatorship..europeans are just evil anti-christ supporters.
