When i called for the govt to resign in Jan 2005, surely it has not resigned.But GCT stepped down as PM as planned in August.GCT once said he would sit at the seat so long that LHL would have to find other seat.He couldn't fulfill his wish.

Again, if you think the PAP can be crushed like a cockroach, you're be entirely mistaken. Take constructive and not rash steps my friend. Look at where your predecessors have gotten. -
I mean if he thinks the growing opposition and anger in the masses can easily be swept or ignored, then I think LKY is mistaken.
I have never said that PAP can be crushed like a cockroach. For one, a cornered, wounded tiger is more aggressive than a tiger experiencing freedom. So even if PAP fragment into two parts in the future, it is still a danger and a threat to the overall freedom of the masses.
And when I say 'freedom', I don't just mean democracy, I also mean economic and social freedom that is built on the foundations of traditional family and religious values.
I do understand for a fact that freedom cannot exist unless the people have enough money and that they also need stability and good values in their family, individually and socially. -
The biggest mistake the government ever made was to create this singapore psyche that Singapore equals PAP.

For a long time, the PAP- despite all its faults and mistakes- have been able to hold on to their seats and their arrogance because their language about the opposition being "liberal", "foreign-minded" and too "democratic" have been effective in the heartland of Singapore.
They have always stated that they are for the people and they stand for a good domestic general policy- issues that are close to people's heart- namely: education, healthcare, basic financial issues like the year end bonuses and taxes; social stability, housing, social values, the issue of babies and even religious values.
Because of the fact that the current opposition, maybe to its fault, hasn't emphasised these issues as well they had emphasis on democracy, they are easily protrayed as "liberals".
So in order to counter that, and for any credible party to truly challenge the PAP's control, then that party must not only talk about democracy, creative thinking and what not but also have a credible heartland policy that speaks for the people on the street- and especially so for the old, the weak, the children, young parents.
The PAP's domestic policy regarding S'poreans and the heartland isn't actually very strong. If you check their policies very closely, you will find that there are a lot of loopholes and also more stuff that actually benefits the rich more than those who stay in the HDB.
So if that credible party can not only establish a clear domestic policy, but also communicate to the heartlanders that not only just highlights the weaknesses of the much-vaunted PAP domestic policies, but also offer their own solutions, and not just temporary ones to the existing problems- then they will have a chance. And as always, an emphasis on the poorer, the older ones, and the children's education and upbringing problems that young parents may encounter and issues regarding taxes, both direct income taxes and indirect ones as well always helps. -

The Philipines ppl participate in rallies in response to the alleged election cheat by their president.There have not been many supporters to my opinion that PAP contravened the election law.I'm not asking u to go to the street to protest but just to express support for my opinion annonymously in this forum if u do agree.Would u do it? -
It is quite obvious that the law was side stepped during nearly all the past elections, and despite all the talk from the elite members of the Ruling Party that they are law abiding Citizens, the subsequent inaction and white wash from the Public Prosecutor's office is already self-effacing.Originally posted by PRP:Show your support or agreement!

There is one set of laws for Common SINGAPOREAN CITIZENS to keep them in check; another set interpretation of the laws for SINGAPOREANS in the Opposition Parties; and another set of laws "specially" interpreted by the elite civil servants for the convenience of those ELITE SINGAPOREANS in the Ruling Party. -
The opposition hasn't had a level playing field in elections for yonks..I mean the GRC system was created to make sure the opposition cannot challenge in most areas. Freedom of speech is non existent, defamation suits has happened before or after elections...
The PAP has weakened the local opposition parties even before elections.
That's why we believe that the PAP has become too arrogant for itself. It's a monster in the making- if not more so. But again, the more it thinks too highly of itself, the harder the fall it will be for them..
Once they begin to fall, of course. -
What can u do?
The questions are:
1. Do u want a PM commit a crime but he is not prosecuted?
2. Do u want the govt formulate policy which is unfair & for self interest?
If your answers are no to the above questions,what can u do as a citiczen with limited power? -
You should sue the Sg government and high court. I still waiting and waiting for it !
