Should MY and SG backup each other during blackout?

  Are the recent and previous blackout cause by "insufficient power generation" or failure of a key power grid which breaks the whole chain of power delivery? If it is the latter, then this proposal is irrelevant.

  I dunno.... the way their media and some of their politicians have been mudslinging us, I'm sure we'll get lots of mudslinging if such an arrangement is made with them..... They'll say we're not sincere about backing them up, they'll say we overcharge them for electric power, they'll accuse us of sabotaging them if they get another mass blackout.... Sounds familiar?

  Dont be too cock sure about the reliability of Singapore power supply. We are pretty much dependent on natural gas supply from indonesia. If something would to happen to the pipe line, it will a major problem to Singapore. In 2004, we have already seen how vulnerable we are. What about potential terror attach?
  
  Therefore I would say that it will be a win-win arrangement to have back up supply. I believe we need them as much as they need us and there is no need to compare who is better.

  Indonesia is not reliable at all. I won't be surprised if they will have "trouble" natural gas line or have some problems in the future in case Singapore refuses them a billion dollar donation of sorts. I rather trust Malaysia to be the backup because Singapore was once part of Malaysia and not to mention , we have closer ties as a result.
