the fatality occured as a result of the people at the scene persisting in the abuse even when they can see it will surely end in death. they have no excuse to escape this accountability. if i was the judge, they are looking at the gallowsOriginally posted by chunyong:yah...dats why imprisonment is so light they scared too heavy they really spill the beans u see...
perhaps if u were the judge, u'd sentence this 4 to death. but have u actually asked, if there are things which weren't told to you?Originally posted by boy in blues:the fatality occured as a result of the people at the scene persisting in the abuse even when they can see it will surely end in death. they have no excuse to escape this accountability. if i was the judge, they are looking at the gallows
thorough investigations were already made. moreover they all had lawyers to defend whatever they think they have left to defend.Originally posted by HENG@:perhaps if u were the judge, u'd sentence this 4 to death. but have u actually asked, if there are things which weren't told to you?
I have but 1 sentence for you:Originally posted by boy in blues:thorough investigations were already made. moreover they all had lawyers to defend whatever they think they have left to defend.
of course the system is also to blame.
BUT.... let's put ourselves in the shoes of those head-dunkers. i believe neither you nor i will really follow all those instructions to test the victim's life to the limit. that's because we are both human and sensitive to the suffering of others.
but i am less sensitive to the lives of those who are not sensitive to the lives of others
perhaps capital punishment may seem a wee bit too harsh. but for sure, they aren't getting away with something as light as their current sentence

I have but 1 sentence for you:
Things are not what they seem.
accept this piece of info at face value and leave it at that.
Do not forget over a year ago, when the news of my friend's death was 1st reported as a collapse, who was the 1st one to come out and declare that he drowned while being dunked...
please read my 2 PMs.Originally posted by boy in blues:it would mean something if it was reported as a collapse after an autopsy was conducted. otherwise he was just declaring something that would inevitably be revealed by a pathologist who's not bribed by SAF
Thank God you are not the judge and the judges are not like you!!!Originally posted by boy in blues:the fatality occured as a result of the people at the scene persisting in the abuse even when they can see it will surely end in death. they have no excuse to escape this accountability. if i was the judge, they are looking at the gallows

i always thought gahment regards guilty unless proven innocent. u r in court, u r guilty unless proven innocent. for their sentence, its no doubt taken lightly. take a civilian, he might just be sentence to few years of jail.Originally posted by lwflee:Why shouldn't they appeal? Its their right to do so, and they should not be condemned for exercising their rights. Remember -> innocent until proven guilty; people seem to forget that.
Now... the family needs to sue Mindef!!!
100% sure that the ones who actually carried out the dunking have not gotten away scot free?Originally posted by lwflee:It has crossed my mind. However, looking at the charges made and the sentences meted out, i can't say that i am dissatisfied; imo, they were just right for the situation. After all, they did kill the boy.
My grievance has always been that there has been no real accountability.
Actually, no. Your reply suggests that the ones who actually dunked 2SG Hu's head underwater are not the ones that have been charged. Imo, that is a serious allegation that should not be made unless there is absolutely no doubt in your mind that it is the truth.Originally posted by HENG@:100% sure that the ones who actually carried out the dunking have not gotten away scot free?

Aiyah, AFAIK those 4 sentenced are just scapegoats for some higher ranking officers lah ! Come'on, we've been in army before what. Cover-up is the name of the game.Originally posted by HENG@:perhaps if u were the judge, u'd sentence this 4 to death. but have u actually asked, if there are things which weren't told to you?
