CHARITIES should not raise more money than they really need, and when they do raise funds, should do it morally, said Dr Balaji Sadasivan, Senior Minister of State for Health.
He was speaking yesterday at the launch of voluntary welfare organisation Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society's first-ever public fund-raising project.
Dr Balaji, who is also Senior Minister of State for Information, Communications and the Arts, said in his speech that donating helps reaffirm the individual humanity of each donor.
So donors expect the fund-raising process to be morally and ethically correct.
He gave the example of how images of sick children may maximise fund-raising abilities but the children involved could suffer permanent psychological scars with such a public display.
Will anything be done abt it ?
