Is China is going to get involved in Iraq?

  The 10 chinese hostages in Iraq could possibly be a life line for the American troops. What is your comment on that?

  I'd be very suprised if china does intervene. After all, their population is huge and life is cheap there.

  as much as china wants to i think it cant really do anything...10 or 20 yrs later maybe but now i dont think they have the projection power to assert military force outside mainland china itself.

  American lives were also taken as hostages and killed as well. Frankly the best action is never to negotiate. If u do, they will catch more of your people and ask for more things.

  USA will "love" china to be involved. arm sales will boom, cheap supply of armies will come to replace the current expensive US troops.

  I don't think so. Our govt won't do anything to antagonise its American masters, and that includes giving in to terrorists' demands. The life is cheap in China comment was actually made by a Chinese friend of mine, that's the way he sees it.

  American troops have killed 100,000 Iraqis in exchange for those puny hostages..
