Well... since decision/policy making is not their competency at all, I believe the system should be outsourced/off-shored to india. And perhaps we would get a better democratic system and better policies and decisions being made for the people. Besides, India is the largest democratic system you can find, they would know a thing or two about running this small country with such obedient people compared to their giant system, complex and heterogenous country.Originally posted by lwflee:What the F? In addition, allow us to build people/things/service/products that serve a purpose rather than the sole purpose to prove some stupid point to become a eventual eye sore and high maintenance costs. Then during 7th month, we can get these bunch out from the closet for some ghostly entertainment which is really making full use of their real competency.
On a serious note, I wonder how long can the common person stand being treated like a fool. Perhaps the call of other land is ringing ever clearer because there is really no point to ever fight against such a devious system. I have come to accept that being called a quitter sounds better than being called a fool to support this system and oppression. -

the common man here don't know it exists and never seen it rear it's ugly head, those trained in business schools and university are up in their high heels and believe everything is perfect and beautiful but it's there only difference in singapore it is more subtly done among the older generation thats why most of our younger business "enterprenuers"(if you like) go to china, india and elsewhere and get a rude shock of their lives. -

I don't think the highly ed are any where better than the common street people on recognising the facts. I know many like the ivory tower and would abdicate decision making to these so call govt. Most people are too lazy to think, too apathic to care and too scared to question. We take so much for granted. rude shock indeed. I had a rude shock when I hear the many things that happen elsewhere fro friends and colleagues. I know we are "safe" right now but I am wondering about the life lessons we are deprived of so as to become better people. And I had come to realised that local Singaporeans are going to lose in this race. Its going to be at a terrible cost to the people.
