If you were an opposition leader, will you want to field 84 candidates or a miserable 10 candidates? Surely if you can choose, you will want to field 84 candidates right?
84 candidates make you look good. Why field 10 candidates and then kena mock and laugh at by S'poreans for being useless and weak?
You think Low and Chiam don't know this? C'mon if they are smart enough to get elected into parliament, they cannot be so dumb not to understand something simple like that.
So why they cannot find 84 oppo candidates? The real reason is, no one wants to come forward!
The state of politics in S'pore is a collective decision of all S'porean as a whole.
S'poreans are an oxymoron, all want to laugh and mock opposition but all don't want to enter oppo politics for fear of being mocked. Slapping themselves in the face.

I would vote for him even if he were barefoot. Its not that I think these opposition candidates are good, but rather the need to vote according to my consience and send a message to the ruling party. Far too many people I know complain about the ruling party day in and day out but when it comes to the crunch, still vote for them. What's the point of complaining then? The PAP has been immensely successful in making most Singaporeans cowards - you have to give them credit for that.
Because of this you have a rigid civil service.
Because of this you have a lack of entrepreneurs.
Because of this you have political non-involvement leading to political apathy in later generations.
It is indeed strange that a people would kowtow to a ruling party when the ruling party should be held accountable to the people.
Have the people forgotten that they are bosses of the government and the ruling party?
How else would there be a need to hold elections and get re-elected every 5 years?
It is even more strange that a people should expect other political parties to challenge the ruling party when they have not indicated their willingness to support alternative parties.
To correct misconceptions, if any, the duty is on the incumbent to provide good governance, reasonable quality of life and accountablity. Not the other way round. -

If you have forgotten, you were the one who mentioned going to surf other forums, made me happy for nothing. I am a fan of yours and that's why I want to follow your posts. I am so disappointed that you now say that you appear only in YP and SGforums.
If you remember, you were challenged by the forumites in YP forum to disclose your real name since you were actively speaking on the side of the PAP and you had admitted to being a YP member.
And your answer? You claimed that you failed to register in your real name!

Political activism does not encompass only forum participation. Forum participation to me is not a priority. Ground activity is a priority. Forum participation is only one small part of activism carried out by WP members on their own accord but this small effort is itself is enough to send lesser YP members like Elfred running helter skelter to try to counter its positive effects.

I don't know what command, or avoid you really wanna talk about... In a way, I do seek to avoid such irrational confrontations and what challenges. As a YP member doesn't mean just blur blur fight because this is WP, that's SDP, etc. Ti Lik, your accusations may be seemingly provocative, but have little meaning to me.
My sincere advise to you is to think before you just anyohow shoot and assume. About yout ticking off, after election, I'd get Yaw for an old friend reunion on private and non-official basis if he's not that busy.

I usually do not like meaningless challenges or fights that don't come to something. Just wasting energy and time. When one day there is a need, you might know what sort of challenge you are picking up. I usually prefer to show weakness, than to claim strong outside... In the forum, I just see see look look, share some views, show some egs. Agree or not, it's not my problem.
Admitting YP member is pretty simple, I don't think anything wrong admitting. I don't see any meaning to behave as a secret society. When I cease to be one, I'd just admit I ain't. What problem?
By the way... so by what you said about you let me stay... does it mean SGForum is really a property of WP or some anti-incumbent establishment or...? May I be enlightened?
