Forget about the past. What I care more about is the present and future. If they don't want to apologise for their mistakes, just let them be. 21st century is a great time to be Chinese. Nowadays people from all over the world are emigrating to China in huge numbers! Read these:

During the ancient stages of the Japanese dynasty, they used to send scholars to China for studies and importing culture and trends to populate the Japanese courts.. like Go, language, religion, technology, etc etc. Almost all the court ethics, fashion or trends were derived from China. (Until the Shogunate rule.. If I remember right.)
Now, its the opposite way round. The younger generations of Chinese have imported many ideas and trends from Japan, especially in areas of design and popular technology. But chinese is a popular 3rd language for Japanese youths (Gackt's brother was studying chinese, dun ask me how come I can still remember. lol.), and many sees China is a good place to work in and perhaps even settle down. There was a tv variety that interviews and helps Japanese jobless to find work in China.
My point is, from thousands of years ago, China and Japan was already interwined in a peaceful and non-violent way, whether we like it or not, they need each other. And this is the state that we should continue to promote, and not focus on violence and wars. History as we studied have always been educating on the bad side of facts, but hardly we hear of the other side. Although I agree on supporting in educating on the truth, I cannot agree on why China should mould its policy based on vengence and hatred.
PS: I put Singapore before Chinese too, I am a Singapore Chinese, not a Chinese Singapore. Sue me. -

I have been living in Tianjin,China for 3 years and I don't really agree that China is pursuing a policy of hatred towards Japanese. The crux of the problem lies with Japan. I love the people of South Korea, but I find this anti-Japanese sentiment, this strong, overwhelming hatred, to be troublesome, to be deeply disturbing, to be, quite frankly, both neurotic and dangerous.
But then again when I think about the Japanese misdeeds towards the people of Korea, I can't really blame the koreans for hating the Japanese.
The Japanese themselves should reflect upon why their neighbours dislike them so much. -
