my opinion is...
it depends on the income of the people
but my formula is family expenses is divided accordingly to the income ratio of the spouses... as long as they fulfilled their duty on family expenditure, then the rest of the money u can spend on watever u like. U shouldn't control wat the other party like to spend money on since everyone have a different concept on how money should be spent. Some people like to spend money on pubbing every friday while another like to spend money buying an expensive car but scrimp and save for their daily expenditure.
however from reading the paper, it gives me the impression tat girls here think tat all the money tat should be spent on family like housing loans etc has to be foot by the man while all the money woman earned is fun money and they can spend it in anyway they like such as buying a hundred dollar shoes every week. IMO, tat is very unfair and marriage problems will surface. -

it all depends on who is better skilled with financial management. it really does not matter as long as both side are sensible.

I could also argue about the fact that duty of women as part of the husband and wife team is to do housework and rear the kids, but that would just be a statement that reeks of chauvinism and YOUR kind of thinking, you racist sexist bigot.
FACE THE FARKING FACTS, in this day and age, both husband and wife have a part to play in all of these activities.
Unreasonable people like you expect men to adopt a modern attitude towards marriage by shouldering their fair share of the workload such as helping out around the house and taking care of the children so that their wives can enjoy a full time career, while insisting on the other hand that the husbands be solely responsible for taking care of the household expenses (insurance, taxes, etc.) while their wives keep the money.
The door swings both ways. If you demand that the man keep to his traditional role of being the bread winner of the household, then it is perfectly fair to expect the woman to confine herself to being a housewife and give up her career (because by your wonderful logic, if men MUST be the breadwinner, then women MUST be in charge of keeping the house clean.)
Everyone else except you knows that this is impractical. Everyone knows that men can't keep on expecting that their wives take on a full time job as their housekeeper. Both must do their duty as such, in as many ways as they can, or else hire a maid.
Likewise everyone knows that working women can't expect men to pay all the expenses, because in Singapore one job alone is insufficent to support a family. If the couple are both working, they must both contribute to the upkeep of the family by paying (in proportion to their salaries) an equal amount.

Justicelegal u do not have the potential to be a good wife because u r self centred and u put yourself and your well being higher than your partner and family. I have to remind u tat male r very much human and have feelings and dignity. They r not turnips where u can cut them anywhere u please.
However u have shown yourself to be able to fulfilled the roles of a kept women who just need fiancial gratification. My recommendation is to find a rich guy looking for a mistress or a rich old 80+ guy who is dying. All u care is money and all they care is having sex. Both of u deserve each other. -
I think it is alright for the wife or the husband to have her/his own bank account (whether secret or not) if she/he so wishes as we don't have to lose our individuality after marriage.
Household expenses could be shared but not necessarily based on some rigid formula as that would run counter to one of the tenets of marriage - give and take. -
