They had just replaced the main contractor from Cheng Poh to GTMS Construction.
So the 2 lifts that expected to complete in May05, was told would be completed in June05 instead. And now end July, the 2 lifts still not operational yet.
Have you got the residents to sign and petition to ask the following questions of the MPs and CCCs:-
(1) Procedures of tenders and awards of contracts.
(2) Are appointed contractors related to grassroot - any leniency in supervising them or any contract award preference.
(3) Project Manager - any weekly overseeing of contracts, technical detailings, testings and certifications to complete projects on time to meet schedule.
(4) Delays, and extensions of time given if any - certified by whom. Are mayors, gm, MP and CCCs expediting the lift completion.
If residents want to have better lives and environment, they have to ask questions and get the highly paid Mayors, GMs, MPs to do their jobs with accountability and transparency to the people who elected them to office.
