A wrong place at a wrong time

I was returning home,after a while i noticed that a group of PRC nationals , didn't have the correct amount of spare change for boarding a bus , gave coins instead , but the amount wasn't enough , then the bus driver scolded and railed at the
students at the top of his voice in mandarin, "Our country is different from your country,in your country , you use coins , but in our country , you use ez-link card"
and a quarrel began..much to the dismay of passengers.
The PRC nationals , were clearly disturbed by his reaction , even at times, when i gave incorrect fares, the bus driver would be more then willing to tell me its alright , is this kind of heavy "reaction" needed?

I would like to add on. Just 2 days ago, I was on board a bus 21. I didnt bring my ez link card and had to use coins instead. So I put in 60 cents in the money box(Student fare). The bus driver insisted that I pay adult fare as I did not have an Ez link card. SO I argued back at the driver insisting that a student did not have to pay adult fare. The driver shot back and said that what proof had I got. They scolded the driver and told him to drive on and said that I am clearly a student. 
They told me not to be scared of the bus driver, and encouraged me not to listen to the driver. All the passengers were supportive of me except for this uncouth malay bastard who was seated in the front. He sided the driver and said I was the cause for all this unnecessary delay. He continued to berate me throughout the journey and somehow he ended up calling another woman a "cheebye"....What an uneducated fellow 
I should have taken down the bus driver name and lodge a report

Bus number? time of departure? date? write to straits times or lodge a complain to the bus company. Better if you have the license plate no.
Such pathetic service standards shouldn't be encouraged in Singapore -
I will not hesitate to use my best verbal abuses if I were ever subjected to similar treatment unfairly.
Being in the service industry meant that bus captains should maintain the highest service standards, which includes being polite even when the passenger is in the wrong.
He can politely and firmly ask a customer to leave his bus if the person causes trouble, but he cannot hurl verbal abuses. Even if he is in a bad mood, that gives him no excuses for his bad behaviour. He should be disciplined, and not let off lightly, like that Raffles JC GP teacher who abused her student so! -
you should have noted down the bus no. plate and the time of the incident then lodge a complain to the authorities~

i think we should give bus drivers a chance...bus drivers in singapore might be overworked and they might feel the pressure from their bosses..so naturally they might take it out on passengers and e.t.c.it could also be that they are not responsible for some of the things like a student must pay adult fare when he/she does not have enough money.knowing singaporeans bo-chap attitude,it could also be that the boss actually want them to do such a thing otherwise he/she will fire the bus driver.They are not paid extraordinary high anyway..furthermore the bus drivers can be fired and they cant defend themselves a lot,unlike in other countries.

If you have witnessed jobs being taken away by PRC, you will empathise the bus driver too

Write a letter to the bus company, stating your displeasure and rap them for having an attitude which leads to their drivers fearing for their jobs if they make a wrong judgement call.Then again, there are some bus drivers here who need a wake-up call one way or another.If I were you, I would give that malay ba*tard a piece of my mind too.

Seriously if i were there i would pay for the shortfall and everybody would be happy.
