I just browse through ... The gist is in the first post. Essentially I know what it means with out having to go through the article. I'm just joking about. But if you see the pun...
information is still insufficient. To me, experience is more important. One can be very learned with information at the finger tip, knows how to ask questions and what to ask. But it cannot be integrated without experience. For example, you can teach a child about failure but the kid will not know what it means until he failed once. And hence there is a point of reference to build on futher knowledge and thinking. However, the critical thought needed guidance and mental training. But because of the effort required, most people rather zone out. If you observe social phenomena, such as mafia, religions or the actions of gangsters and go into their world, you will know that some form of brainwashing would have to occur. on a larger scale, its really the government system. About zoning out, that is mild compare to ppl with serious personal issues who constantly attribute to external factors instead of taking responsibilities for it, and think through and solve it. As far as I know, most people will escape the issue rather than face it so critical thinking does not develop and the escape becomes the only way that a person deals with all similar situations.
Anyways, I am uttering rubbish ... don't mind me... but critical thinking is not so simple. The thing about critical thinking is that is surfaces too many questions and there is no answers for them. Makes people uncomfortable and if you ask, you might make both parties lose face... but perhaps I think the general populace is rather naive. but again ... its just my opinion.
THinking is the hardest thing.
