Dear Pikamaster,
Have you played Risk before?

For a relatively small party like WP, we could only do whatever we can with our limited resources.
Give you an idea of how much time and effort is needed to walk the ground, knock on every doors in the constituency. If there are 100 blocks of HDB falts in one Division or SMC and with limited resources and no one is doing full time, you could most probably walk once a week, burning your Weekend. Please remember that we also have other activties beside walking the ground... Sunday got hammer sales. ON and off we have constituency based functions and activities.
Thus, it would be very lucky if you could juggle your time among your work with political activism. For each potential candidates, it would be lucky if you could make a commitment of walking one HDB block per week. It means that it will take TWO whole years before he could finish his area.
In strategic planning, we don't aim to be over ambitious with our resource constraints. We will just do whatever we can with whatever we have. It is unwise to put yourself all over Singapore without any apparent focus at all. Unless, you could get potential 84 candidates with another three hundred helpers (each candidates need at least 3 or 4 helpers), then we could manage to cover the whole of Singapore. You join me or Crazy Monkey join me?

errr... "too far away from centre of operations" is not a very good reason as to why you do not visit people's places. In fact, unfortunately, this reveals a telescoping mindset, and possibly means WP is needlessly restricitng itself to a few constituencies like Hougang.
put it plainly, do you pple ever think of taking bus or MRT?

after all, there is sth. called outreach.
