  the worst is the interest we have to pay for our housing loan. really sucks.
  look at how much the banks make each year.

  I'm not ruling out mass riots and violence that the police and army cannot(or might not want to control. after all, they are singaporeans too. why do you thing some people are guarded by gurkhas instead of local forces) leading all the way into parliament house, especially if a few people step out to get things organised. Might not happen in our lifetimes though. Sometimes the only way to overcome a tyrannical government is through the use of force. Of course, people will die but not even the ruling party can kill everyone.

  Problem is that we listened to the government to set our roots down, put all our savings into property and now we are stuck. When the property market drops, you see your investment shrink.
  
  I see Singapore as a good place to earn money when you are young and economically productive. But I hardly think I can afford to retire here, not unless the PAP invites me to be a cabinet minister. And I think I have a better chance becoming the next pope.
  
  So cash out and move to Malaysia, Thailand or China, where with the proceeds of the property you sell off here and your CPF money, you can join the elite there. I am going to retire at 55, can you do that in sg?
