Buying 4D = paying income tax ???

I really dun see why the craze and obession with 4D buying in singapore. Why is 4D being associated with gods, devils , spirits and being made so magical and mystical? I will urge pple of daoist and buddhist to search through their scriptures or analyse and review their religion to see which part of it relates 4D to this craze and practice?
To me buying 4D is a sign of the lower class pple in singapore. It seems to be the government's "nice way" to tax the lower income pple that are not subjected to income tax. why not just keep a notebook abt the amount of money spent on 4D and the returns? I think many pple will be amazed that the amount of money saved can be used to do various things.
gambling = bad and illegal until ......... government authorises it .. becomes legal and justified... haha -

Why stop there? Actually there are no winners: all sgpools take back. ST reports falsely to give everyone a false sense of hope.

singapore pools make a lot of money. if they want more all they need to do is introduce new games. i dont think they are so silly to resort to cheating.
such a scam will involve a lot of people. how to keep everyone quiet? -

i don't know if those who buy 4D are only the lower income group, but if it's true, then it's probably simply that they don't have the type of capital to play in the stock market like the higher income group does, and they are not sophisticated enough to think about financial portfolios and stuff... certainly they know how to save enough for their housing, children's education etc though
the common factor here is that people are buying a hope... money is never enough.. whether u trade in stocks or u buy 4D, all u hope is that that big break is just there and you might just strike it big one day (and 4D is so much easier to play)
personally i also agree that the money u pour into 4D is greater than the return, and i think most pple do too... but to these people, that little piece of hope is worth so much more, and nobody minds -

let's assume lower class means the poor. 4d punters are not only from the lower class. a lot of them are from middle class, i.e. average singaporean workers. -

Yesterday 4D just open "0000". Imagine those people who are inspirited after watching our local film, Tu Ran Fa Cai, and tum $10 big $120 small, ahha..
Anyway there is no way the sgpools will lose money in anyway, I've seen a rough logistics last year of people buying 4D each week, amazingly high of 200,000. Lets take on the average of people buying, say $30 bucks, that would be 6Mils. -

just a bit goes to charities and community projects. the bulk of it goes into our reserves. that's why we have a staggering US100-200 billion estimated.
