Haha.I like thatOriginally posted by vito_corleone:somebody should buy him a "how not to be racist" textbook so he can memorise and blurt out every line. scholars? intellectuals? my arse, no wonder singapore doesnt have any success stories.
independence has nothing to do with racism. many countries have enjoyed much longer independence than we do yet they are many times more racist then we are.Originally posted by kaka_22:Haizz after so yrs of independence.......there's still such a thing call racist...![]()
I won't forget this fark..After all, I know him.Originally posted by SilverPal:Sadly, his dad is some big shot, ie he will still have his scholarship with nothing more than verbal warning regarding this issue.
I'm assuming that he will of course still get his civil service career once he comes back to singapore and by then ppl would have forgotten all about his racist blogs.
Perhaps when he becomes a minister and someone brings this issue up, he would claim that its all a rumour.
You know his dad huh..okay la.I knew him in school..now sort of lost touch after Sec 1-2 thereabouts.Originally posted by SilverPal:What kind of person is he? I only know his dad...
If I ever meet him, I will bring him down to earth. I bet he only wrote that apology under sheer pressure. If not, he would continue his rubbish ranting. Such people are a sheer disgrace to us.Originally posted by LazerLordz:You know his dad huh..okay la.I knew him in school..now sort of lost touch after Sec 1-2 thereabouts.
He had this arrogant streak in him when he was younger though..
So his dad is some big shots huh... I thought he was the son of the Joo Chiat trouble maker aunty who also compare Kencil and Mercedes.Originally posted by SilverPal:Sadly, his dad is some big shot, ie he will still have his scholarship with nothing more than verbal warning regarding this issue.

PSC. what do u expect. my view of PSC scholars aren't the brightest. unfortunately i just ran into some here about a month to go. Didn't exactly change my opinion of them.Originally posted by Mozart:PSC scholar, Chua Cheng Zhan, studying in Northwestern University make at least two disparaging remarks about other races on his personal online journal. He used words like `repulsive' to describe some races and talked about their `irksome features' In defence, he said that he was not himself when he wrote these things. I did not use his own persona when he wrote on his blog.
What do you guys think? As a returning PSC overseas scholar, he will work as a civil servant - making policies that affect every Singaporean's life. Would you want a racist scholar to make decisions that affect you and your family?
Personal blogs are alright. But if you are a Scholar and a potential government official in charge of policy, your attitudes become part of the public arena, as is rightly so given that you are on taxpayer's money, you have to accept a certain curtailment of your right.Originally posted by SBS9611D:According to someone @ Chit Chat, blogs are now under scrutiny. Teachers have searched their names on google and uncovered blogs where students were cursing them.![]()
