This topic can be rather stimulating without the mudslinging.
Asians are united in wanting progress and harmony, even Singapore, whose entire policy is based on pragmatism, also finds it more beneficial to engage in constructive diplomacy.
Like I said in other threads, when we worry about the military invasion of Jap, we tend to overlook what is actually happening. Highway69, have you considered the effects of the 'soft' invasion by Jap?
All my speculations are without basis and somewhat radical I know, but it really starts you thinking.
Anyway, I dun really buy the idea that Jap wants to takeover us again. No war after WW2 has been considered overwhelmingly successful, or even profitable.
Think about it, ppl smart enough to give you Honda and mutsabishi (i can't spell it) are too dumb to realise that they cannot win a war in the present day and age? Doesn't add up. -

I would say the repercussion should be good... for South East Asia (SEA). If u could look back to the eighties, there are the 4 asia dragons, SGP, Hong Kong, Taiwan and M'sia. If Japan and china is to fight... north asia (this will include north and south korea, Taiwan) plus US will be involved. Hopefully this will be a localized and long drawn war....
Economically, there will be sanscations against China from WTO, pulling out of investments etc etc... if SGP is to get 5-10% of it... then all will live happily for the next 15-20 yrs...

the situation at the far east is far more complicated than it appears. there are too many unknown factors. im chinese and i study second world war history well. the fact that does the casualties from the second world war commited by Japan more than china domestic war between GMT and the communist? if the latter is true, we should anti taiwan or china depending which line we stand?
history are meant to serve as a reminder of the past and not to be repeated. china keep saying Japan imperialism is coming alive again but ask ourselves who has Japanese friends. today Japanese military are basically no threat to china, korea or Taiwan. then why are we worry about?
japan indeed fail to acknowledge the mistake it committed during the occupation of China. but to me, china was playing it politcal game. Japan was never going to be threat to china in terms of military, but maybe a war of economic battles. -
