Numbers have doubled in 5 years.
why do they have to suffer so much since they are still young.Can't imagine when they grow up, they will have more stress. Our young generation have never been enjoy so much in their childhood as compare to the 70s, 80s and 90s. -
i figure the number may have increased because of environmental reasons...
and mostly, i think it's because we are now more educated to figure out that they are mentally ill and the stigma is not as bad now so their parents do something rather than lock the child up in the house... -
just look at our education ministry. change and change. wonder why all the fuss? they are making education a complicated affair!!!

Can't blame them since Singapore is such a small country, we have to be first in everything, even at the expense of the people. This is the very reason I never push my children to study hard. As long as they pass, it's ok for me but then hor, my daughter is coping ok, my son never pass... life is so difficult .... sian sia ...

when i seen into my cousin primary school maths, it seem to me like is from secondary one. Challenging question! As for seconary school, they have to study social studies compulsary with other humanities such as history or geography. Social studies is very tough leh.

i dont disagree that we need to keep ahead. but is it necessary to pressurized kids that way? i bet they dont even enjoy their childhood nowadays.

My daughter's best friend jump to her death two years ago just before her O level.... That affected her so much, we were so worried for her ... singapore have a typical survival-of-the-fittest mentality. but all done at the expense of people who cannot cope or catch up!!!

No doubt about it, we are on a downward spiral. In Singapore, the rat race now starts from primary 1, and not your first full time job. Our education system does not educate. It is in fact a system of elimination.
Anyone remember this violent japanese movie Battle Royale where students are forced to kill each other to reduce their numbers? It was made as a satire of the cutthroat japanese education system. -

That's besides the point. I am voting to express my disapproval of the ruling party. The ruling party likes to brainwash and induce fear in singaporeans that the country will collapse and never recover if they are voted out of power. I choose to take my chances.
