The rot within Singapore's public transportation had been going on for years already. EZlink is an easy cash for this LTA's subsidary. EMAS ended the romance of live-data msg for motorist. EPR does provide traffic vol, but it becomes more clearer that authorities see this as a cash-register POS for both day AND NIGHT revenue generating source.
How long will this world-class trasportation system last ?
Will if take on a more liberal-competitiveness amoust the providers or will authority continue this one-way Do-Do evolution spiral into an ineffective, over-priced system ?
No competition = lousy service.
That applies to the market of political choices.

The stupid CCL again
Now Paya Lebar shophouses sinking, and LTA say nothing wrong... They themselves are pushing the prob, in the 1st place, Paya Lebar used to be a swamp area. Is it stable for tunnelling?
Then the Serangoon NEL Stn sank by 10mm all thks to the CCL drilling works.
With the Phrase I delay, now the contractors are demanding $200M compensation for the delay
The fact is, I dun even think CCL should be build. No way are we going to dig tunnel everywhere, later the land just collapse -

A world-class public transport is not impossible but for that to happen:
1. the entire LTA team must be chopped off including the new joker CEO Yeo Ah Mee who was from the army and who obviously shows that army BGs can't do a good job outside army life...
2. the entire SBS transit board of directors must jump off the Braddell Rd Building and go to hell...
3. YEO CHEOW TUNG must quit - this useless fellow was tasked with negotiating air rights with jakarta and Canberra and well, we all know the outcome...
4. PTC and that joker Eric Gwee must be kicked out as they are just a rubber stamp to delude S'poreans into thinking the Government vets fare increases. -
The issue could be that the transport companies see it as their hold on the people. As the provision of bus services is a public good, and a highly demand one at that, they can slowly inflate their fares. Wonder what will happen if one date the users decide on a boycott. But experience says that such an act will never be possible, reason being the majority of the people are not activist.

Singapore transport system is far from world class... Look and the newer lines NEL , CCL, to tranfer form one line to another, we need to walk a long distance. as compare to the older lines.... we just need to cross the platform and transfer to another line.. I just wonder if 15 years ago the authorities can design such a convient system. why can't they do it now....

but since the future lines are already in their masterplan, they should put the connection to future lines into consideration when constructing existing ones... and not starting to think of constructing long underground passages to link adjacent stations when they finally decide to build a new line... -
Something that is irritating..
In 1993, they cut many bus rts along NSL/ EWL... End up now, the MRT cannot cope at peak hrs... And SMRT is world's most profitable rail operator...
